Why no sponsors?
While signing up for the winners walk of hope i realized that ovarian cancer gets almost no acknowlegement from the big guns. Everyone sponsors breast cancer. This really ticks me off. Why hasn't always or tampax or someone become a major player in trying to help those diagnosed with this type of cancer. I did send an…

PET Scan, has anyone had one that was bright yellow and later found out that it was inflammation, no
Angela's PET scan showed bright yellow. Her doctor and California said the cancer was back. The doctor at Anderson said that inflammation can cause the PET scan to show bright yellow and said she had to have a biopsy to know for sure if the cancer is back. Does anyone know how common it is for a PET scan to show bright…

PARP Inhibitors in Ovarian Cancer
Some cell-based assay labs have explored the biology of PARP inhibitors, alone and in combination, in actual human tumor primary culture micro-speheroids (microclusters), in breast, ovarian and other cancers. Hi Loves, I've been away from the board for the last two weeks with extreme fatique from my last carbo/gemzar and gemzar cycle. Our cancer "ordeal" blog
I asked my husband to keep a running blog of my ovarian, stage 4 cancer treatment. I told him to hold nothing back and tell it like it is. I am hoping that it will help someone about to start the treatment process to know what to expect, and maybe learn some things sooner than we did. Good luck to everyone out there and…

Opened the 1st of my 'posthumous' birthday cards to my grandkids today! :D
When I had my 1st recurrence, back in November of 2009, I read the survival statistics of my rare aggressive uterine cancer, and got my affairs in order. I felt I needed to have all the loose ends tied up so I could concentrate on LIVING for the time I had left. A part of those 'preparations' was to write out birthday and…

Hot tub
Hey guys. I was reading an old post that it was not healthy to get in a hot tub unless it is obviously clean. I would like to know the health risks and, if any, benefits of a hot tub while I am going through chemo. Everything hurts so bad and I don't know what else to do. They gave me 500mg hydrocodone for pain but it does…

Science/Nutrition Lesson?
I've had four treatments of Doxil, and thankfully the tumors are getting smaller. Out of the blue, I had a vivid mental image of a bunch of dead cancer tissue floating around inside me. I know that the miracles that are our bodies "clean this all up" somehow. But I'm ignorant about how. What are some trustworthy resources…
