2nd Pelvic Ultrasound is in
Just heard today that the cyst has grown a little in just under 2 months but only by 2 or 3 mms each side. The mural node is unchanged at 1 cm. which my doc is happy with as it is the node that she worries about the most. Still I know that a cyst can be cancerous too so suffice is to say I am not relieved by this report…

Could it be cancer?????
Hi all! For the last few years I have had severe bone and muscle pain and have worried what if it is some sort of cancer. Also, I have had so many female problems- heavy periods, sometimes months at a time of bleeding, pain, etc. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer last year. That prompted me to make a few appointments…

multi grain foods
I've read where we are supposed to eat more fruits, veggies, legumes and multi grain foods but was wondering if anyone has ideas in the multi grain foods and also ones that don't have much sugar, which they say we should shy away from. I've only come up with cereals, breads, crackers but sometimes doesn't seem like time to…

Has anyone heard of this?
I have a friend that bought me Apricot seeds on the internet as a cure for cancer and my mother is driving me crazy about taking 4 Tablespoons of pureed asperagus twice a day. I know you can't believe everything on the internet but have any of you heard of anyone doing these alternative treatments?

They are taking everything out of me..in 2 weeks...
Well, what a learning experience today. My Ob/GYN and GP both met with me and have informed me that due to the strong genetic link in my family, they intend to remove ovaries, tubes, uterus etc. They had already set up an appointment with the surgeon (head of gynecology). Anyway, they said that they are finding more and…

September Ovarian Cancer Awareness
Hello, just a friendly reminder it is again ovarian cancer awareness. Last week I wrote my letters to the Editors and the first newspaper already printed it. Remember by helping to raise awareness ~ it could save someone's life. Most local papers do have editorial or opinion sections you can send a letter to. Hugs ♥…

Update on Linda
Rather than bits and pieces on posts, thought I'd just a few things about my wife LInda. In early August her counts rose ever so slightly from 6-8 to 21. She grew worried of course, but the next test showed a 25, not a significant rise or an indicator that we're facing more cancer as yet. Last time her counts went from 8…

Date for surgery
Hello to all! I have a date with the oncologist now - September 14th. He said there is a 20-30% chance I may have a temporary colostomy when it's done, because the tumor is close to my colon. He did say the CT/Pet scans were clear in all other areas, and I am grateful for that! I've already made a post-surgical appointment…

Just venting
Today was my mother's 2nd chemo. She had an allergic reaction to the Taxil? This is apparently not a common reaction if you did not have a reaction the first time. Drama..They dosed her up with stuff and got the chemo into her. By the way she also lost her hair this week. It was an 11 hour day. Last night, a friend of the…

Finished Gemzar 20 Jun/ Recurrence already
Hello everybody, I was in the hospital last week with severe dehydration, and they also pumped 4 litres of fluid from my abdomen. Before that, they thought I had a bowel obstruction, so I have been on a liquid diet for WEEKS; which has made me very weak. I had even called my Dr. and had labs done, and he ignored my need of…

a thought
I'm not sure where I read this, but I think about it once in a while. "Sometimes God calms the storm, and sometimes He lets the storm rage and calms His child." Have a pleasant day, Jane

no H Pylori
I saw my oncologist this morning, I had my CA125 drawn and he said he expects it to be up again but we won't restart chemo. at this time. I'll have a CT scan in Oct. and if it shows disease, then we'll restart chemo. He wants my body to continue healing and getting stronger from the 10 months of Topotecan, so that it will…

H Pylori
Hi Ladies, I saw my internist today, he gave me a thorough examination, asked lots of questions, looked at my July CT scan report, and my blood work from last week. He said my severe pain, n/v and sweats from Monday are not related to passing a stone or gall bladder disease, or my 2 hernias. He said he feels that I have H…

Phase 1 Clinical trial/complications...Immpower as antioxidant???
I've posted before...at hospital all day - finally, received decision the docs would postpone going further with clinical study and administering meds due to low white blood cell count. Specifically, the differential count - components of the white blood cell. Neulasta is not part of the study, so if my body cannot rise to…

Long-Term disability denied - Q about paps
I am so angry I could spit! My long-term disability was denied due to the insurance company's contention that an abnormal pap indicates a pre-existing condition to ovarian cancer! My research says there is no conection, as does my Ob/Gyn and Oncologist. Do any of you have any knowledge that disputes this?

gall bladder attack or virus?
Hi ladies, I'd love to get some input or ideas about this: Yesterday morning I awoke with horrible belly pains from the breastbone down to the pelvis, and around to the back on both sides. I began vomiting and couldn't stop until I took a Zofran. I broke out in a cold sweat as well, and the pain was so bad I was moaning…
