In tougher economy, fewer Americans get colonoscopy. High co-pays lead many to skip life-saving screen, study finds. http://consumer.healthday.com/Article.asp?AID=662103 I am fairly bothered by this. I am reading from people stating colonoscopies are more dangerous than they are beneficial. To which I am pretty sure I…

Not typical symptoms
I have had abdominal/pelvic pain on the lower left side and a backache. The doctor ordered a pelvic ultrasound to check for ovarian cancer, but I'm wondering if colon cancer ever presents this way. I had a colonoscopy 2 or 3 years ago.

Update - HIPEC surgery??
Hi all, Well, unfortunately, we didn't get the news that we were hoping for today. We picked up the PET/CT scans (no time to wait for the written report) from Dana Farber and brought them directly over to the HIPEC surgeon. He told us that the scans showed some tumor growth, but not too bad, so he scheduled the HIPEC…

DaBeachBum has gone to a sandier sparklier beach
Raymond has left us and gone to non-earthy pursuits on March 4th. If you go to his last discussion he posted you will see an update from his family. He was thoughtful enough to have someone arranged to let us know of his passing, and they were kind enough to do so. Rest In Peace Raymond. Winter Marie

Stage IV Good News
Today was the day I met with my oncologist to receive the results of my three-year scan. Everything was clear. I said to my doctor that I knew I wasn't out of the woods yet but I was so happy. It's been two weeks since we had the devastating news and I feel like I have been through all the stages of grief and back again.
