Stage II colon cancer
My mom was diagnosed with stage II colon cancer, with "suspious" (2) spots on her liver. The doctor said they are too small to determine if they're cysts or cancer by CTscan alone, so yesterday she went for a Pet Scan. The oncologist didn't mention anything about her kidney, but the surgeon told us they also found one spot…

They finally got sick enough of seeing my face to kick me out of that place. They sent me home with enough blood thinners to kill a whole field full of rats. Even the corn fed ones. I have to give myself shots for five days and be on warfarin for a month. If I get so much as a paper cut I am screwed. I`ve got to go - I am…

Things NOT to do during CHEMO
Several questioned me about this. Cat Litter: Cat litter (dirty) contains a parasitic bacteria that is very dangerous to pregnant women and during chemo. I received a booklet, which I have since thrown away, that said not to clean cat litter during chemo. Oysters: Oysters contain a bacteria that attacks your liver. If the…

So, when my mom was diagnosed Stage IV in June of this year BEFORE she had her colonectomy, her CEA level was 86. A month later, just before starting chemo, it was 7.8. Update on PET/CT-good news!
My oncologist called me this morning after the tumor board at which the liver surgeon and he and other docs looked at the scan from last Tuesday which showed a spot on the liver that lit up on the PET scan.
