Chemo induced Laryngitis
I have a doctor appointment with a Throat doctor to evaluate my condition. I have have chronic hoarseness or possibly laryngitis which I attribute to the Chemo drugs. My onocologist and the various nurses I have spoken with have claimed no knowledge of such a side-effect. How about all my fellow cancer fighters? Any…

LTD
I'm wondering how many of you are on LTD and what cancer stage you are in? Are any of you in remission and still getting LTD? The reason I am asking is that I ddn't opt for LTD because if I went in remission, that is when I went into remission :-), I didn't want to have to find a new job. So guess, I am really wondering if…

chemo and question about ct report
I start chemo on Thursday, I am a little nervous. Had my port put in on Friday. I went to Miami for consult and did not really like the Doctor. He was very "full of himself". They did a CT scan with contrast and said they saw the single mass on liver(of which I knew) and a unidentified area on right lung that needs further…

Hello everyone, I just wanted to share the news that I got an email from Serrana this evening, saying she's doing fine after her lung surgery (which she had last Monday). She is weak, but resting quietly and, best of all, she is now considered to have no evidence of disease following this surgery (NED!!) I'm sure we'll…

How are your emotions since dx
Hi Everbody, I guess this is just kind of an informal poll of sorts. I have found since my dx and surgery that I seem overly emotional. Is this normal? Has anybody else gone through this? I have always been the emotional type, but this seems to be more intense than what I am used to. Don

Has anyone had an infection in Portacath?
Mine became infected while in the hospital a few weeks ago. the area around the portacath was red and rashy-looking- it matched the Tagaderm/clear bandage over the area. The rash area was shrinking but the site was sore. I was on one antibiotic but it doid't do a thing. Once the culture came back, my Onc put me on another…

Does anyone get to the point where they drive themselves to and from chemo or is it a standing rule that people have to be driven home on chemo days? My husband has only completed two rounds of chemo so I am thinking forward to all the fun chemo days ahead...

Have any of you had the chemo port in your arm? I understand they can put it either in the chest or the arm. I’m having it put in my arm next Tuesday and I’m just wondering what the advantages of one over the other might be.

CT Scan Results - Hopeful News
I haven't posted in awhile as I've been waiting for my three month scan results since I began Folfiri and Avastin. My oncologist and my VATS surgeon both told me that chemo wouldn't work on my lung mets. They wanted me to radiate my lungs. My second opinion, Dr. Lenz at Norris USC Cancer Center, said that it would work and…

Anal Cancer - no one to talk to - does anyone survive this disease and come out with reasonable norm
I am a 43 year old female. I watched the Farrah Fawcett documentary regarding her experience with anal cancer and had never heard of it prior to that. I was shocked when only 3 weeks later I was diagnosed with the same thing - especially because I am the picture of health, other than this disease. I was diagnosed with…

This is a tad graphic, but I'm desperate!
I'm so at the end of my rope. Yes, I've had IBS since my 20's, which is over 30 years. I've pretty much been able to manage it. Since my colon resection (it'll be 2 years in Nov.), I've had even worse problems than ever. So much pain, so much constipation. This week has been HORRIBLE. Especially the past few days. I feel…
