It may be a recurrence
Hello, I am from the uterine board but have been reading the post lately on this board as my closest friend, a sister to me really, may be facing breast cancer again. She was diagnosed in Sept, 2011, with bilateral breast cancer. What a nightmare that was! She first had biopsy surgery which showed that she had a grade 1…

I'm going to start chemo next week. AC. I have 2 malignant tumors & 1 benign in my RT breast. I am pos, pos, neg. The tumors are sort of large so they are doing chemo first, then Taxol, then surgery & radiation. When we made the plan the 3rd tumor hadn't been biopsied yet. Now I wonder since it turned out to be malignant if…

Just got emailed my annual mammogram results from Monday. Lovely. That's sarcasm. Came back Diagnostic category 4, suspicious for malignancy, but finding does not exhibit classic findings of breast cancer, recommendation is stereotactic breast biopsy. So I called the oncologist, the radiation oncologist, and the surgeon.…

Trying to Find a Good Internist
Yesterday, for the second time in two years, a good internist that I waited for a month to see, rejected me as a patient! They do a song and dance, but I know what their issue is. Seems like docs do not want sick, compicated patients. Anyone been through this? My medical history goes back to birth and was more complicated…

How to find low-income, income-dependant housing
I can not, for the life of me, find any low income, income based housing! I need it for May 1st for me and my 'emotional support' dog. Scopolamine patch for nausea after surgery
For any of you who have surgery coming up and are worried about nausea after anesthesia, I wanted to suggest asking your surgeon or anesthesiologist about a scopolamine patch -- it worked unbelievably well for me. I had bilateral lumpectomies in 2009, and woke up to wicked nausea from the anesthesia. Before my bilateral…

Lung mets? Symptoms?
My tumor markers are up again. Doc was worried last week before we even got labs back so he scheduled a CT. I was thinking about what we talked about that got him wanting a scan. The main things were shortness of breath, getting windy easily (I about passed out going up a flight of stairs. sounded like I ran a marathon),…

Surgical glue/Dermabond on your incisions?
Hello, all - I had a bilateral mastectomy 3 weeks ago, and my surgeon used surgical glue (also called Dermabond) over the incisions. He understands and respects my decision not to have any reconstruction, so he used this method instead of sutures in order to give me the best cosmetic result. He was very clear that it's not…
