I had the run around with my doctor about doing a excisional biospy then he said he knew nothing about it.Well why would I be in the office if I wasn't called for a consultation for that. He was changing to a needle biopsy suddenly.Called the breast center and that nurse is on it and told me what to do. So phone calls from…

Mastectomy - Blood pressure/blood draws which arm?
Hello beautiful Pink sisters, This has always confused me because I've seen different answers multiple times. I understand that if you had a mastectomy, your blood work/blood pressure checks should be administered on your opposite side of the body. Now with a double mastectomy which side is it done? I know at my cancer…

#2 chemo today.
Its been a rough week. And I don't get the neulasta shot. I can't imagine having that too. I've had more nausea, constipation and weakness. This week I get one of the two drugs, next week off. I worry what my bloodwork says today, if its better. My nodes feel much smaller anyway. I'm more forgetful too. Spelling words…

Fosamax wkly pill vs Reclast annual infusion
BCBS would not approve Reclast for me...unless I could not tolerate the Fosamax weekly pills. It always is about money. So, I have been on Fosamax with usual muscle aches, night sweats, etc. Tolerable...but geez, it would be nice to not have to remember to take the darn extra pill each Sunday. So, my insurance changes next…

Home. It was FANTASTIC, but 2 weeks of traveling is WORK!!!
The cruise was great, except the first day and night was high surf and wind...more time for Bingo! *smile* We had first-class service, champagne on boarding and little snacks each afternoon. On my birthday, the servers sang to me and gave me a delicious chocolate cake, part I took back to our cabin. In the elevator, which…

Taxotere/Cytoxan side effect - severe stomach pains?
Hi ladies, Had my 1st Taxotere/Cytoxan infusion last Wed. and have been having increasing problems with stomach ache/intense cramps/bloating. Have shooting pains throughout my body but mostly on my left side abdomen. I think some of these are "normal" side effects ie: ears hurt, bit of a sore throat/esophagus, some nausea…

Lumpectomy and sentinal node biopsy
Tomorrows the "big" day. I'm stressed, nervous, in some ways angry, and depressed. I am doing some laundry, cleaning off my bedside table, and clearing off the recliner just in case. I am making a little pillow to rest my arm on, have in my armpit, or just hug. I wanted to put a pink beaded boob on a little tag on it but…

I don't understand why a Hematology Oncologist Denies a Side Effect
For the life of me I am trying to understand why a doctor who supposedly knows all the side effects to the hormone therapy drugs denies that you are having side effects. My first hematology oncologist poo pooed my question that what I was experiencing were side effects to Arimidex. My side effects were spreading like a…
