Hi ho, hi ho Taxol sucks!
Well the powers that be won't let me work part time but because I'm not officially approved for short term disability I get to go back to work today to fulfil my contract. I'm telling you ladies I thought Taxol might be tolerable....it's NOT! My oncologist said it was an "easy" chemo I would like him to take it. I can't…

Reconstruction by implants.
Hello sisters..... Has anyone had a double mastectomy with reconstruction by saline implants? That is the path I chose. I am done with the reconstruction (except the tatooing of the aereola) and am finding the implants very uncomfortable. Has anyone else experienced this? There has been some encapsulation, which the…

The diagnostic center.....
How is it that they sent me a letter today reminding me that my mammogram is due now??? And that my last one was 8/5/10 and they have immediate openings. This is the SAME place---for years--- that I had all of my diagnostic mammos, MRI's, and breast ultrasounds.... My mastectomy was in 2008. Maybe they confused me with…

Is this real?
So I finished my last radiation treatment on May 20th (the day before my 20th birthday) and this entire summer has been so incredible. I have been working out a ton and training to run a 15K in October in addition to enrolling in classes for the fall. It sounds a little too good to be true, right? Well thats because it is.…

I've come through so much and I'm beginning to feel lost and confused. I'm weepy a lot these days, mind you, there are many other things going on in our lives that…

Tamoxifen and hair loss
I have noticed for a while now that whenever I wash my hair a good amount of it comes out of my head. This is about 4-5 times the amount that used to come out. I am not going bald by any means but am starting to be concerned. It also comes out during the day, maybe a little more than before but not a lot. I cannot find any…

Guess I would normally not be sad to say I can't have chemo, but at this point in my journey were it's really vital, I'm a little concerned. I went in yesterday for just the gem of my gem/carbo regimen and my WBC, RBC, and platelets were too low to do chemo. I'm praying really hard these come up fast because chemo is my…

My Oncologist pleaded guilty in Federal Court yesterday that she illegally exported drugs not approved for use in the United States. Dear New Chemo Patients
There are quite a few posts from women having a lot of ugly side effects with chemotherapy lately. Prior to my chemotherapy a year ago, most posts were about how few side effects women were having. Or, maybe it was just lots of encouragement that chemotherapy was "doable". While I was, of course, pretty uptight about…
