Chemo - a restless, irritable kind of tired, anyone?
I just finished my second T/C on Friday afternoon and the fatigue which hit on Sunday was the same as last time, not a restful kind of "I can just crawl into bed and fall asleep kind of tired", but one of anxiety, restlessness and irritability. It's like I am so tired, want to go to bed and sleep, but I can't, not totally…

DCIS - need words of encouragement
Hello, I'm 42 yrs. old and a few weeks ago I was diagnosed with DCIS. It's at stage 0, grade 2. It's been somewhat a surreal experience. In mid April of this year, I had my first mammogram and since then my life seems to now revolve around this. I am grateful to have found this early and for the doctors and surgeon that…

Bone scan on Friday for me...
I had my first follow up visit with the onc last Thursday. I've been having pain in my right ribs, well below the mastectomy. It's enough that I can't sleep on my right side...so I'm scheduled for a bone scan this Friday. Sigh. The rest of the visit went well. Of course I'm still dealing with the fatigue, neuropothy, chemo…

Returning to work
Can anyone offer any suggestions on how to handle work? It seems as if because I can no longer do the amount of work / put in the time I did before the cancer diagnosis that I have now become a liability instead of an asset. I was placed on an action plan the very day that I returned to work after being off for 7 weeks and…

This has, in a way, made us better.....
I know there are so many men who have left after hearing a breast cancer dx. To all the women out there who have had the misfortune of being victim to the weak spirit of a man, I am so sorry for your pain and my heart goes out to you. Having said that, I would like to take a moment to put a shout out to all the men who…

Camp Kesem- for kids with PARENTS who have cancer
If you have young kids, you need to check out Campkesem.org. If there is one near you, check for openings. It is the most fabulous thing that cancer will do for your kids. It is funded, organized and run by college kids, who most likely have had parents with cancer. I was kind of worried about sending my 7 and 11 year old…

How long did your chemo curls last? I was done with chemo last Aug and thought they would last about 6 months, but they are still here. Trying to decide if I should keep it short or let it grow. Anyone stop Tamoxifen, then have recurrence?
Hi ladies. I started Tamoxifen very reluctantly after lumpectomy and radiation for one spot of DCIS that was grade 3 (aggressive). Oncologist said to try it and stop if I didn't 'like' it. Radiation oncologist said don't bother with it as it would cut recurrence from only 14% to 7% . My new gynecologist took pity on me and…

For those of you who had lumpectomies - anyone have wire localization done the day before?
One more question for my friend who's getting ready for her lumpectomy in a couple of weeks: She goes to the hospital the day before her surgery for the sentinel node biopsy dye injection (I know some of you did this as well) -- but she also thinks they'll do the wire localization the day before, too. And then send her…
