I made it through my last surgery!
Hello Friends & Sisters, By saying my last surgery I mean I will never allow any more parts removed or even subject myself to it again..... I almost died & was put on enough medication to knock a bear down. It was a very frightening experience for me & my sister as well as the true friends I know from church. Even the…

Hand pain from taking Xeloda
I'm desperately searching for relief from the constant hand pain that began when I started taking Xeloda for a B.C. recurrence. The drug is doing its work very well and I don't want to stop taking it, but I spend most of my time reading books because there is so little I can do. I have tried vitamin B-6 (with my…

This is really wierd!
I have osteoporosis in my neck - it's pretty bad, is now affecting my arms and hand, and I am also shrinking. Anyway my doc wanted to do an MRI and I told her that the staples to mark radiation are still in there. (I didn't have radiation after bc surgery) She said that she can't do the MRI, too much danger of the staples…

I am interested in finding out what the difference between a CA127 blood test and a CEA blood test in regards to measuring cancer antigens. Also interested in what they should be showing in order to show progress is being made in treatment, or if something is wrong. My sister has been fighting breast cancer for 4 yrs,…

Hair regrowth
I am 2 yrs out from diagnosis. I had pretty heavy duty chemo, 4 rounds of FAC and 4 rounds of taxotere and 12 weeks of herceptin plus radiation even though I had a mastectomy, not a lumpectomy. This was due to the size of tumor, 5 cm. But here I am with my hair still so thin. I am very sensitive about this. I work in a…

Hi everyone, I haven't been on for awhile. I'm back for more prayers. They diagnosed the return of my breast cancer(which had spread into the Plurel Cavity) 18 months ago. I have had a lot of back pain. The family doctor said that I have severe osteoporosis and put me on meds for that, plus she ran a bunch of tests. She…

Hello all. As some of you know my bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction is the 16th. Thank you to everyone that has helped me deal with this. It has been quite a shock to me and my family, but the worst is almost over. I am only removing my left breast to prevent future occurances. I am hoping all goes well and I will be…

Ahhhh, it's good to be done!
Newly released breast cancer survivors take notice....it is possible to feel great right after you're done with treatments! I just kept reading posts that were of people up to a year out of treatment that still weren't feeling "normal". That scared me. So, I'm here to say it also can go much better! I finished radiation on…

I know cholesterol concerns are at the bottom of our list of worries, but I wonder if anyone else here has heard that Tamoxifen lowers cholesterol levels and Arimidex causes elevated cholesterol levels? Thanks. Sue

Help, I've become a hypochondriac!
Two months have passed since my final surgery, eight rounds of chemo and radiation. I feel as though I have stepped into the abyss and left behind that woman who dressed up for chemo and smiled through radiation. I am fearful of any bodily symptom that might arise and have given away so many moments, as of late, to fear. I…

Hokay, I told you guys about the darkening, thickening skin on the top of my left foot. Went to derm, did a biopsy, could not determine what it was. I was wondering if anyone else out there is taking Femara. I have been on it now for about 3 months and am finding that both my arms and my feet ache constantly. I was previously on Arimidex and had to be removed from it as I was having terrible bone and joint pain. My oncologist advised me that Femara is almost the same…
