Anyone with Stage 1a UPSC?
When I was diagnosed in March 2008, I began extensive research to determine what I believed to be the most effective treatment and the likely prognosis for this subset of uterine papillary serous carcinoma. Some studies indicate that observation could be considered for this stage, but the most recent study--at MD…

Papillary Serous
My mom was just diagnosed with Papillary Serous Grade 3 Endometrial Cancer 2 days ago. She is 72 years old and has had vaginal bleeding for the last few months on and off. She had a D&C 2 weeks ago and they removed what the doctor referred to as "tons of polyps" but she said none of them appeared to be cancerous. My 4…

No residual Mullarian adenosarcoma in path report
Had total hysterectomy for Mullarian adenosarcoma on July 12. Path report came back. There was no cancer found anywhere. Doc thinks cancer was contained in the polyp that was removed in my original D & C. He says I don't need to see him for a year. I told him I would feel better seeing him in 6 mos. I am having a hard time…

What are some general questions I should be asking my oncologist about my CT-scan results?
I'm new I was diagnosed with Stage 111A Endometriod Adenocarcinonoma. On February 4th I had a total hysterectomy. I just finished my 6th rounds of chemo with taxol and carbo. Fevers
Hello, I've had fairly high fevers for the last two months. Some of them have been attributed to a problem I was having with my kidney and two UT infections. I've been on antibiotics for three weeks, which cleared up the infections but has still left me with fevers. My oncologist is now attributing them to the…

What is a proper UPSC CT scan schedule?
I was diagnosed with UPSC in Feb. 2011. After surgery, I was staged as stage 1B grade 2/3 (on the new FIGO charts stage 1A grade 2/3). I just finished 6 rounds of chemo and I am currently doing brachytherapy radiation. I have not had a CT since I was orginally diagnosed. I thought that I would have a CT scan after…

What to do when you're new to all this, a response from Karen, taken from another thread.
This is a post by Karen from another thread, but was so pertinent I thought it deserved its own posting. Here are a few suggestions that may be helpful. You want to have your surgery done by a GYN Oncologist so if you are seeing a regular GYN, ask for recommendations and then do some research on the ones suggested. Talk to…

CA125 for Uterine Cancer?
I was diagnosed in Sept 2010 with Grade2 uterine cancer. After total hysterectomy it was found to be fully contained in the uterus. I was never given a stage - but told it was so mild I didn't need follow up treatment. Last month I had bright red spotting (twice) and visted the gynocologist/Oncologist - he thinks it might…

anybody know of ways to increase white blood cell count to hopefully avoid the usual neulasta injec
Hi, my blood cells are pretty good, except for the wbc after round c. I get weekly taxol and once every 3 weeks carbo. Its been just below the normal level, not enough to stop treatment but I have to get a neulasta injection after every round c of treatment. Does anybody know of foods I can eat to hopefully keep the wbcs…

sisters, i'm going to speak to my doctor on monday and spek with her, then have my 5th of 6 cycles of chemo the following week. if my ca 125 continues to go down as it has been, by the end of the 5th cycle i should be well below 35, knock on wood. what would be the purpose of having the 6th cycle? i asked a nurse, and…

Stage 1B, beginning radiation and 2 very tiny lung nodules found..,anything to worry about?
Hi. I am posting this for my Mom. She is still learning how to use a discussion board so I'm helping. Mom is 64, uterine cancer was unexpectedly found after vaginal hysterectomy. Because of that, lymph nodes were not sampled. Cancer was invasive adenocarcinoma, and was confined to uterus as far as we know but was 80% into…

Drug Shortage
Hi Ladies. My sister-in-law has had UPSC since 2006. She did two surgeries, aggressive radiation and carboplatinum without a lot of success. The GOOD news is that Doxil is working! Bad news is that we learned of the shortage of Doxil--so that she cannot get her next treatment. I've started writing our pathetic politicians…

I am in observation again. Hurrah.
Saw the doctor and I am officially in observation again. I will go monthly for lab tests and then CAT scans every 3-4 months. If I have symptoms or the CA 125 jumps significantly the CAT scans will be sooner. My CA 125 was 43.5 last month and this month it is 43.7. So I would say that is my baseline. I had 7 chemo…

I was diagnosed with endometrial adenocarcinoma in June, and I immediately began searching the internet for more information. I found this group, and I've checked in daily and read many postings. Well, fast forward to the end of July. I had a hysterectomy on June 22 (DaVinci), and I've been doing really well. I saw my…

Taxol UPSC please reply re: side effects!
My 78 year old mother has tolerated her previous treatments quite well in past 3 years (carboplatin/paclitaxel, radiation twice, Doxil last year) She is now receiving Taxol only through a port - 3 times a month with one week off for the next 4 months. She has had a total of 4 treatments and is so weak she can hardly get…

Any Way to Raise Platelets?
Dear All, After 25 radiation treatments and 4th round of taxol/carbo, my blood counts continue to plummet. Was sent home twice already for 5th scheduled chemo, with platelet count at 46. (100 is my center's minimum for proceeding with chem.) Did any of you have more than one postponed chemo for low platelets? And is there…

Clean and Healthy Produce Spray
I found this on Dr. Oz website. It says "Eating organic fruits and vegetables is the safest way to ensure that your food is pesticide-free.
