Soy consumption? Controlling hot flushes?
I was wondering what your doctors have told you about eating SOY. My onco told me, after surgery, to stay away from it. I try my best not to consume any, but almost everything has soy as ingredient, including protein power. I am definitely going to ask my onco in my next appointment, but I am just curious. In the last few…

A Gentleman and a Robot Project
I gave the scrub cap to my gynecologic oncologist today. He absolutely loved it. The nurse loved it. The medical student loved it. He laughed so hard and gave me a big hug (none of this has ever happened before). He says he's going to wear it in the OR and he just might - he modeled it in the exam room. He appreciated both…

Vaginal Spotting
I've been on a roll since my diagnosis Feb '08, stage 3C MMMT.....no recurrence. Well this morning I noticed some pinkish/brownish spotting (had to really look as it's almost dull in color) on toilet paper after wiping....gee! Heart sunk to my stomach and now know I've got to call the doc this morning as he'll want to see…

I have had ginger and peppermint tea to alleviate the gas. I was passing gas last night while watching TV, but once I went to be I stopped and I have abdominal…

Preliminary Results of CT Scan: Stable is a good thing?
I will be discussing the CT report in detail with my oncologist next week. However, he sent me this message: "The CT showed no significant change, indicating stable disease compared to the last exam. Dont' be depressed about the stable finding, it is one of the goal of the treatment. Not all can achieve further response,…

After 5 1/2 years finally got port out!
I just wanted to share this news. I had my port put in in October of 2005 and been having the darn thing flushed for over 4 years once I was finished with treatment. That meant it was a monthly reminder all those years. I am happy to have it out.

First visit with oncologist
Well, my first visit with my oncologist was yesterday. I was nervouse, that's to be expected. Had a hugh panic attack in the parking garage--thank God hubby was w/ me for support. Guess the visit made it "real". After a visit to the restroom to pull myself together (and do some major praying for strength) I went into the…

Given Lupron prior to hysterectomy
Some of the posts here and some referring to prostate cancer got me thinking. When I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis, before they would do the surgery they wanted me on lupron for six months. They said it would stopped the endometriosis and make the scarring softer to be able to remove it a bit easier. I did take…

Just diagnosed and looking for a support group
I was diagnosed with stage 1 uterine cancer two weeks ago. My first appt. with the oncologist is in two days so I don't have the report of my CT scan or the treatment he plans. Up to this point, I have researched to understand what stage 1 is and the treatment options generally used. I have created two journals, one for…

alternative cancer treatment discussion
My preface: I read with great interest the stories many tell of alternative treatments. There is so much passion out there about what treatment works and what type of treatment a person wants or doesn't want or SHOULD get or not get. I'm interested in a DISCUSSION. Please let's not throw stones at anyone or anything…

CT After Chemo
I am about to finish chemo in about two weeks. I only had a hysterectomy and 6 cycles of carbon/taxol. The cancer was confined to the uterus, but very closed to the cervix wall. So they removed everything, including the cervix and did a vaginal cuff after surgery. I had an appointment with my onco last week. He told me I…

Uterine cancer (endometrial cancer stage 3C grade 3) and uterine Sarcoma
Would love to hear from other late stage uterine cancer survivors. October 2010 I had a radical hysterectomy with lymph node removal. All my reproductive organs were cancerous, cancerous abdominal and paraaortic lymph nodes, and a vaginal tumor. Pathology showed that I had two types of cancer growing in my uterus - and…

a swollen ankle can be a sign of deep vein thrombosis, which can indicate cancer recurrance
(I'm mentioning this here just because I came here looking for information on this, and didn't find anything - which isn't to say the topic isn't covered elsewhere.) "Gift" for surgeon - is this inappropriate?
I was browsing embroidery designs this evening and came across a design titled "A Gentleman and a Robot". See it on my Expressions page. I had a robotic assisted hysterectomy last year. Really confused about stage 2 cancer diagnosis today
After having a vaginal hysterectomy, my Mom (mid 60's) went back to her obgyn for her hysterectomy follow up and was told she had Stage 2 cancer. Here is exactly what the Dr. said: "invasive adenocarcinoma. Invasion into outer half of muscle of uterus. No extension to outside of uterus. Stage 2". He wrote this down for my…

Uterine Cancer Recurrence Question
Hi Everyone I was diagnosed with uterine cancer - grade II -- in September 2010. I had a full abdominal hysterectomy in October. Hello
It is a long time since I was here. As a reminder I’m the one who had chosen 100% alternative way of treatment. Even though my doctor told me that I have 50/50 chance of recurrence I said no to the radiation and big NO to the chemo. Some can call it bravery some stupidity. For me it is just the way of going through my…
