I have a zillion questions,... starting with "why me?" So much I don't understand. I am 52 years young with wonderful husband. Symptoms started with diarrhia for several months. Me and the girlfriends just made fun of it cause we were all heading to what we thought was the "depends" future..... NOT. I finally ended up in…

Still got it!
I had the drain removed tuesday. Currently no signs of infection or abscess. I played golf today, the first time since my diagnosis. That's a little more than a year. I shot 3 over par from the pro tees. Not bad considering I still have the hole between my ribs from the drain. I know that little tid bit wasn't cancer…

I have found an ostomy nurse
The only bad thing is it is a 2 hour drive one way, but I know it will be worth it. Since I have seen my oncologist and the surgeon that did the surgery and they did not help Many Hugs and Prayers Jackie

Nothing to do with illness, something just amazing.
A 47 year old homely looking woman got an opportunity to sing on Britains got Talent. She sang, I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miserable. The crowd was laughing and making fun of her before she sang and everyone seemed to think she was a loser...until she started to sing. She even melted Simons heart. If you want to see/hear…

How to post photos and other items.
Hatshepsut tried to post a slide show of some sort. I thought she has a great idea that can be a comforting diversion from the grind of cancer. Posting some photos you took, or other expressions you create that has healing properties for them. Preferably, things that you do or did. On all of our "About Me" pages, it has…

Long day at Winston-Salem set up surgery
I have been putting on my wafer wrong for 3 years, NO one around here, including the Home Health Nurse knew a thing. I met my first Ostomy nurse today. I have the wrong kind of wafer and cutting it the wrong size. Way to small. I felt like an idiot today. I have psoriasis real bad and I thought it was broke out from the…

After an 11 week battle with this disgusting disease my brother passed away. I've never felt pain like this before in my life. I have so many questions that can never be answered. 32 years old with not any hope at all. Thanks for all the replies in my previous post and I hope there is a cure for this disease. Romana x

Are Stents useful?? Did you undergo this type of procedure? If so, how useful is it???
Hello, just relaying a message from my mom. Oncologist called today to discuss more information in regards to my mom's chemo treatments starting next Monday. Feet problems after Treatment
Hey all, I just joined and am so excited and impressed with this site. I stumbled on it trying to find out if someone out there is having the same weird side effect I'm having and knows what's causing it. I finished chemo 3 years ago and 1 year ago my feet became red most of the time (and I mean bright sunburned red) and…

symptoms
Hello-I am a 28 year old healthy female that has recently started having major GI issues. I have been to 5 doctors in the past 2 months and no one is taking me seriously. I started having slight bright red rectal bleeding on the stool in January, occassionally. I just opted to watch it after OBGYN said it was probably…

HOORAY, I'M NED
Can you believe that? After scaring me out of my wits, the bi-phasic CT scan came back normal and my CEA is 0.5, about as normal as it can get. The surgeon plans to scan again in July and keep an eye on that spot they noticed in the PET/CT scan which showed along the cut edge of the liver at the July '08 surgery…

Hello, anyone out there familiar with Sunitinib Malate (SUTENT)...im reading a pamplet that relates to mixing this drug with FOLFOX instead of the Avastin plus FOLFOX treatment. How would I know?
So, I went in for my bloodwork today, and since I had never been told what my CEA was at diagnosis, I asked if they could give me that number. It was exactly the same as it has been at subsequent checks (assuming I get the same answer when I call tomorrow!). That's fine, except I wonder how I'm supposed to know if anything…

Had Emergency Surgery before noon Wednesday! UPDATED
I got sick with a gall bladder attack last about 10:45. I walked, tried different positions and finally woke Jim at 2:00. He took me to the ER and they did loads of blood work plus an ultrasound that showed 'numerous' gall stones, but no blockage. They gave me pain killer IV and sent me home. By time I got home, the pain…

My weight loss after surgery
I got on the scale today and was surprised to learn that I had lost nearly 13 pounds since my surgery. I knew from the pictures I saw of myself at Easter that my face looked a lot thinner but didn't realize it was that much. Granted I'm 5'6" and weighed 135 pounds before and now weight 122, but that just seemed like a lot.…

CT scan results
My 3 month CTscan came back clean! This makes it 10 months I've been NED. Love, love, love it! I asked my oncologist to wait until the end of August for another scan and he said the magic words "Yes, we could probably go to a 4-6 month CT scan rotation". Now I get to enjoy my summer without a scan in between. And last but…

kristasplace answer to your ?
Yes they for some reason messed up and left it in there, 3 years ago. I was DX with rectal cancer so I don't understand why they left it. I have had a perm. ileostomy since 2006. So now they want it out, but I am going to a different Dr. to do it, so it can be done right. Many Hugs and Prayers Jackie

Anyone else have the B-Raf mutation?
I got the news a few days ago that I'm positive for the B-Raf mutation...not a very good prognostic factor. I was just wondering if anyone else has tested positive for this? I guess it's pretty rare. Thanks in advance. Hugs and prayers, Elizabeth

Confused, Questions posted for Sharpie102
I hope I'm not overstepping any boundries (well, that would be normal for me I guess - LOL) but this was added to the bottom of another thread and I thought it was important enough that it should be it's own thread. Sharpie102 wrote: I just found this site, and I apologize in advance for the lack of my English language…
