stage 4
I was diagnosed with stage 4 in 1/21/05. It was spread to my ovaries. Pet and cat scan show no more tumors.I will be on chemo for 6 months. My question is, if I have no more tumors why is it still more dangerous than a stage 1 or 3...because cell keeps on reproducing faster ? When this started I though that with chemo…

Lots of Questions for you all
Well, we have had two different onc. appts and here is what I am getting out of the two. My mom had level one colon cancer spread to the liver and abdomen cavity. Supposedly pretty rare to go that route. There are several places but know large tumors. The places are freckle sized and they called them "implants". She is…

need good vibes
Hi all. I had a CT scan last week... and I get my results tomorrow afternoon. The last 2 scans showed a pulmonary nodule that isn't growing, but I was on chemo during that time. I am a young, healthy (except for the cancer thing) non-smoker, who doesn't have many reasons for pulmonary nodules to appear. I'm usually pretty…

Tilting at Windmills
This is a letter the the editor-in-chief of the Raleigh News & Observer that I sent today. They had an offensive calendar celebrating Martha Stewart's get out of jail free card--what she could do under house arrest--haha. I see nothing funny in this and I told them so. I sent a letter a couple of weeks ago which was posted…

First Anniversary
I had my first Colonoscopy a week ago since my Bowel resection On April 1 of 2004. The doctor removed three polyps. Pathology reported yesterday that they were pre-cancerous. Therefore, I am now officially in remission. I slept last night better than I have in a month. Now, I know most of us dread having any tests done…

Words of wisdom, please
My sister, 68, was diagnosed with Stage 3 colorectal cancer 17 months ago. She had a PET scan a couple of weeks ago and was just told that cancer had spread to her bladder, liver and left lung. She has yet to meet with an oncologist for a treatment plan - that is scheduled for next week - but she's terribly devastated. I…

New to this board
Hi all. I've read several of the posting and am inspired. This is the first time I've posted anything. I am a one-year cancer survivor. I had stage 2 rectal cancer, diagnosed at age 38. I had 6 weeks of radiation/chemo, followed by surgery, followed by 6 months more chemo. I'm happy to say I am now cancer-free but am still…

adhesions
I'm a newby, but have a message for all. as I approached my five year cancer free mark,(11/24/05),I really felt better and better. Then on the first of July I had what I thought was constipation. As you all know that is no big thing, but this was. I went into the Hospital on July 4 with a intestinal blockage. They tried…

Great News
Great news today. Husband cancer free. Last month was the one year anniversary of his surgery. After the doc said "cancer free", he said some things like "no lymph nodes", "rectal surgical site looks great" (even showed me the picture), "removed a few very tiny polyps, but nothing to worry about", "see you again in 6…
