So much going on....& I need to ask a favor
I know that I have told you about my parents - Dad is in assisted living and Mom who needs to be. Both are in the end stages of COPD, which has been manageable even though they are failing. Well, Mom has been falling - alot. We thought it was because she wasn't getting enough oxygen to her muscles. She has been in the…

Hello everybody, sorry for worrying you, but since I've returned from Cancun, I've been falling apart. Cancun was AMAZING, and that time with my two kids was priceless, tears fall as I write about it because it was the most precious time I've had with them in all our lives. However, my health has been going downhill…

Back from oncologist's and I feel better (loooong post)
I guess maybe I feel better because first, I have a wonderful oncologist who answers any and all questions, gives me all the time I need, and treats me like I'm her older sister with a big hug when I leave. Second, I have a couple of treatment options that don't sound too horrible, and third, I feel like I have some…

My oncologist said "No" to donating me kidney!
The Yale Transplant Center is shocked. She feels it will present a risk to my son. The Yale doctors don't agree but she has the final word. I made an appointment to meet her in person to discuss. The transplant center suggests my case be reviewed by a tumor board. That's what I want. I can't live with one person deciding…

Fear of bone cancer
Hi all, Been a while since I was here. Chemo knocked me on my butt so I wasn't able to finish. I was so miserable with fatigue, shortness of breath and hurting all over I didn't even post here. My PET scan did come back clean though so for this I'm thankful. I was de-ported on January 10th and what should have been a…

Infection at the port site
Has anyone gotten redness/infection at the port site? I am here for my chemo session and brought the redness to their attention. They put me on Cipro to treat it, but I am still unclear as to what causes it. They just said it happens. Can anyone give me more insight than that?

I've been having a LOT of pain in my left shoulder all the way to my fingertips. Had lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy in May 2010. Went to ortho consult yesterday and he believes the shoulder and finger tip issues are two separate things. I told him of my radiation treatments and how by the end of the week, I couldn'…

Off arimidex, exchange surgery, overwhelmed.
Sorry I just need to get some of the stinking thinking out of my brain. A little history, I was diagnosed with leukemia in 2005, I have been in ongoing treatment and on oral chemo for seven years. Two kinds of skin cancer in between. Than I was diagnosed with breast cancer last july. I had a double mastectomy in august. I…

I will continue w/ weekly infusion of Herceptin and Xgeva every 4 weeks…

Pathology Report was GREAT!
I had a R breast biopsy in the hospital on Friday. Late yesterday I got a call from my doc that the path report was all clear! I have atypical tissue caused by scaring from a breast tumor removed in '98. I have to go back though because they are concerned about a complicated cyst in the L breast. Sigh! I'm confident all…

Question for Double Whammy
Hey, Suzanne! You told me you had infections with each chemo cycle. Did they do the round of cultures each time? How long did the fevers last? Would they let you start a new chemo cycle before all fever was gone? Thanks for any more input! Angie

Many of us have been "deported"-anyone been re-ported?
I am finishing my 15 radiation treatments to my spine on Friday and from there go right to my medical oncologist to discuss what chemo treatment she has in store for me. Since my port was removed 18 months ago when treatment finished the first time, I am now portless. Chemo sure was easier with the port and my good arm…

RO visit
Saw the RO this afternoon. He is in agreement that the shrinking that has occurred is great news. He, like me, thinks we will want to pursue more treatment options if we do not have further improvement. He says the radiation is not done working yet and he would like to wait 6 more weeks and then do another MRI and decide…
