Good Things Happen When You Travel On The Pink Bus~ Thank You, Kindreds!
Home at last~ I was a very good patient! The IV didn't want to drip very quickly, so it took a long time for the Nuclear meds to infuse~ but the person who did the actual PET scan was so nice to me! He wrapped me up in a warm blanket, and actually told me I was soooo cute! HA~ that made me laugh out loud~I was so relaxed…

If she did I would have stayed in the womb!!! WOW, so not a great start to treatment. First, my port wouldn't work. Had to go to the hospital yesterday for a dye check only to find out I had to have a new one put in. Saturday after chemo on Friday, i actually felt normal......then BAM it hit me hard on Sunday. Thank you all for thoughts and prayers, now venting on insurance problems.
Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers after my surgery last week. I am feeling very good, and am really trying hard to keep off my bike for a week or so at least. I do have a little swelling and tenderness in my right arm pit, but other than that I feel pretty normal. On to worse things - it sucks having to…

Breast Shrinking 10 years later.....please help
Hi there. My mom is a 10 year IDC breast cancer survivor. She was treated with lumpectomy/rads/hormone therapy. She recently noticed the treated breast has shrunk in size. Could this be a late side effect of radiation all those years ago? She had a normal mammogram last week. I am worried this could be a new problem. Any…

FOLLOW UP TESTS AFTER BREAST CANCER
Hi all What kind of follow up tests do you have after therapy and how often? Surgery, Radiation, and Frustration
Up until today everything was 80% fine. I am in remission and I have started plans of eventually paying off our bills. I may need some sort of financial counseling in my future to have a concrete plan of attack but medically all everyone seems to be doing is adding not subtracting. I started getting a handle on what things…

PTSD from breast cancer and really horrible medical unprofessionals?
I have mentioned here and there the awful, and I do mean awful time I have had with drs since my cancer diagnoses. Some were cancer were related, one was a neurologist. When my oophrectomy was cancelled the afternoon before surgery, I went bullistic. The surgical technician had gotten paperwork I was supposed to sign 31…

A Gentleman and a Robot Project
I gave the scrub hat to my gynecologic oncologist today. He absolutely loved it. The nurse loved it. The medical student loved it. He laughed so hard and gave me a big hug (none of this has ever happened before). He says he's going to wear it in the OR and he just might - he modeled it in the exam room. He appreciated both…

Amazing fortune cookie after mastectomy !
Ok I am truly not making this up, it's a true story. I'm sitting in the hospital the evening of my mastectomy and my husband brings me Chinese food. At the end of the meal I open the fortune cookie and read it. It says "turn your scars into stars!" I've kept it to remind myself of the many amazing messages I keep receiving…

Had more blood work to rule out
blood clotting issues. Last Thursday a large bruise started to show on my mastectomy chest. I had not had any trauma since Memorial weekend when I fell. The bruising from that fall lasted a month but this new bruise just appeared after starting to take my aspirin again. I'm tired of having to worry about what could be…
