Actual dialoge of a former WordPerfect Customer Support employee with a caller: "Ridge Hall computer assistant; may I help you?" "Yes, well, I'm having trouble with WordPerfect." "What sort of trouble?" "Well, I was just typing along, and all of a sudden the words went away." "Went away?" "They disappeared." "Hmm. So what…

Has anyone waxed their head after buzzing it?
I shaved my head the other day - and got wondering, with it so short, will the little stubs fall out - or just stay in place? I'm a patchwork - some is smooth, some little stubble patches. I thought waxing it would make it all smooth and let it all start at the same place. . . any thoughts pro or con? Lori

Chemotherapy hair loss
Everyone keeps telling me to get over the hair loss from chemo, but I just can't. Are there any treatments, oils, vitamins, products, etc. that may stop the hair loss caused by chemotherapy? There are so many hair growth and hair strengthening products, that I am confident that someone has developed something that will…

why can't I move on
Veteran cancer warriors, give me advice. Dx in June, DCIS lumpectomy surgery in July, multicatheter interstitial brachytherapy in early September, began tamoxifen early November. I'm done. But I keep researching things online for hours a day: side effects of tamoxifen, recurrance rates for DCIS, etc. My husband would…

CAUTION: Don't bake with your wig on
I just ruined one of my wigs while opening the oven. You'll turn into Little Orphan Annie on a bad hair day. There's no fixing it. I knew better, I just forgot I had it was on.

You know how people never know what to say to you when they see you ? Well I went to a jeweler that I hadnt seen since diagnosis to get my mom a present he was helping me and finally said " Well it looks like you have been going through some crap" I laughed so hard and it sums it up so well, no platitudes, no discomfort…

Herceptin ??
I had my 2nd herceptin treatment last Tuesday and have very itchy skin on my neck and upper chest. It's not hives and not red unless I scratch it without thinking. Has this happened to anyone? I also had my first of 35 radiation treatments last Monday. I asked the rad techs and they said it's not from the radiation because…

Smoking
I would imagine most on here do not smoke or probably have not smoked since diagnosis. I am, unfortunately, very addicted. I have quit for a few weeks at most only to return to smoking. It's making me absolutely NUTS! I want to stop. I NEED to stop. My PCP originally told me he didn't want to put me on Chantix because…

Mohawk
We shaved my head the day before Thanksgiving - and I posted the pictures on my expressions page. As you can see from the picture I have up - I had lots of hair - short but a lot of it! It was amazing how it came out so fast! We did a mohawk, a baby louie top knot and then the full shave. My daughter thought it was…

So I'm about crying laying in bed and my husband says "it's ok honey, your a tree that has lost it's leaves, you'll grow new ones in the spring" I had…

Inner Peace.....
I was watching a Medical T.V. show yesterdays and the doctor guest on it proclaimed that the secret to finding lasting inner peace was to finish what you had started. So, I looked around my house to see things I had started but hadn't finished. And, before leaving the house this morning I finished a bottle of Merlot, a…

When can we say dancing with NED
When can we say dancing with NED? That is my question. If I am in Herceptin treatment until the end of August 2010 is that when I am dancing with NED or do the doctors have to do more tests? Do I have to wait until the doctor says NED? Margo

Drains! A question
Hi all, Checking in with the collective wisdom here. I'm 2 weeks post surgery (unilateral mastectomy with expander put in on 11/12) and have only a single drain remaining. I'm getting around pretty well and feeling good. I walk 30 mins, 2x day and can do some light work (computer) from home, but I'm still on a narcotic…

New Femara Question
I have read all your comments about Femara(Femera) in the past, but the side effects are not quite as I expected. I have been on it for about 5 months. Reducing Radiation Treatments
I just want to throw this out there. I was to have 12 weeks of radiation, (every day except weekends) After surgery my doctor said, ask your radiologist if they can double the dose and be finished with radiation in 6 weeks instead of 12. The chemo worked very effectively on me, they took out 20 lymphnodes, and removed the…
