onchologist's exams
What should we expect from an onchologist when treatment is over and we go for our 6 month check-ups? Just to talk and have the onchologist order tests or are they supposed to examine the chest area? Last time I went, he looked but didn't touch...just ordered bloodwork and x-rays because it's been a year , since my…

Alt med's
Hi all, I noticed a post by Hummingbird that she is actively looking at alt. med's in addition to traditional medication. I want to say that I believe 100% in chemo and the other prescribed drugs. I know that they work but because I had a particulary aggressive HER2+ diagnosis in June 2003 I started researching other…

Today is the first day I've gone out without my wig. I used to have long hair but that was a different me. I remind myself that my "new" hair is the beginning of a new me. And like you all told me, it did come back very different. It's wavy and really fine. I want to thank you all for your help and support. You helped pull…

Herceptin and the heart
Last March I was diagnosed with stage 3, Her2 positive breast cancer. Since I couldn't be prescribed herceptin, I joined a clinical trial in order to get it. My MUGA scores slowly declined and when it got to 51%, I insisted on being referred to a cardiologist. If my score fell below 50, I would be kicked out of the trial.…

xeloda
Well -- it has been 3 years since I accessed this board. Last week I found I have a local met in my chest wall. Fortunately, it was a blessing in that they found it at an extremely early stage -- it won't even show up on a scan yet. They plan on more radiation and combining it with an oral chemo call xeloda. Any one with…
