problems with reconstruction
Hi this is tired and lonely. I need to know something. I had recon. in 1998. They took the flap out of my back. They also put in an implant. Since then I have been having bad cramping under my arm and in my chest. Also the implant has busted and there is nothing left but the shell. My doctors can't figure this out and have…

Hi to everyone. This is my first message here - I'm looking for some personal advice. Medics never seem to have any answers.... taxatere after-effects?
More than 6 weeks after my last taxatere treatment, I still have fairly weird "side effects": fairly severe edema in my ankles & up into my calves, very painful muscles, sort of all over (only when I move) and, of course, toe and finger neuropathy -- which is the only symptom I have heard about. I also seem to bruise…

My mother has been diagnosed with cancer. She is being treated as if she has breast cancer, althought the tumors are in her neck and substernal chest area. Has anyone ever run into this kind of situation, where the origin is not completely clear, but the pt. is treated as if they KNOW the origin?

Health Insurance
I lost my job of 12 years last March. I have not been able to find work since then, and have been paying a very hefty COBRA payment every month which will expire September 1 of this year. I have heard that it is virtually impossible to get health insurance coverage if you have a history of cancer. Does anyone know about…

First Chemo Treatment
OK - the subject line was easy - now I have to find a way to articulate the overwhelming feelings I'm having! As a result of a routine mammogram (Feb '02), I found that I became the reluctant owner of a lump in my breast. A flurry of activity folowed - ultrasound, mammatome biopsy, and surgery (lumpectomy and sentinel node…

mom passed away from B.C
Well, I am 20 years old and my mom passed away about 4 and a half years ago. I have a little brother and sister. She battled with it for about 8 years...it kept coming back to the same place. The doctors never figured out why. I just heard about this website, and figured that talking about it might be able to help someone…

Taxol again
Hi everyone! So far 2002 has been a real bummer for me and my family - it just seems we haven't had anything but sad news. Don't get me wrong, I still feel truly blessed by God, and will continue to follow His lead. It just seems a whole lot has happened in such a short time. The latest is that I found another lump which…

Food for Thought
Hi everyone, I apologize for not being on much in the last week. I just can't get back in the swing of things since the last surgery. On Monday, I go for a bone scan.
