The last I heard she had just been released from the hospital. Please let me know if there is any news in regards to Kimby. Kimby if you are reading this we care deeply about…

CA 125 continues to rise
I had my lab drawn on Monday. My CA 125 was 77.7. The doctor had told me previously if it was 80 - 100 he would want a repeat CAT scan. He will only begin treatment again if the CAT scan shows something, and they have been negative so far. So the good news is that I don't have to have a CAT scan yet. He had also told me…

PCOS (Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome) Roll Call
I've been noticing lately that we've had several ladies with PCOS including myself. PCOS puts us at risk due our insulin leves. For those of you with PCOS, there is a website. I'll have to look it up. With my diagnosis, I tried to find information between uterine cancer and PCOS and there wasn't a lot out there. Maybe we…

Cancer Issue: Why Cancer and Inflammation?
I simply cannot stress strongly enough the relationship between cancer and inflammation. The first step in getting a handle on cancer should really be to get a handle on inflammation that is going on in your body. Please have your CR-P LEVELS tested. It is your body's inflammation marker, is a simple inexpensive blood…

Jill, was wondering why you've been pulling your prior posts.
Hey, was just noticing your posts are disappearing. Looks rather odd, what with people responding to something you've said and there being no post to respond to. Is something wrong. I had always thought what you had to say offered a lot to the discussions. What's up? Claudia

"Lap" tops
A couple of people have talked of using laptops on their laps!! On "The Doctors" TV talk show recently they cautioned about using these directly against the body because of the heat generated - for men their sperm count can be effected. And who knows if the electricity is harmful in this day and age of everything being…

Endometrial CA Advocacy Group Forming
Hi All: I recently received a copy of the latest Gynecologic Cancer Foundation's Newsletter in the mail. It includes information about the newly-formed Endometrial Cancer Advocacy Group, and states that this initiative marks the first time that there has been a national endometrial cancer (EC) group whose purpose is to…

Did everyone have MERRY CHRISTMAS?
I had such a lovely Christmas! I think everyone in my family said it at least once: "Best Christmas ever!" There were lots of hugs and lots of laughter and even lots of sentimetal tears over the special homemade gifts and thoughtful choices and tpuched reactions. The grandchildren were more grateful than greedy; more…

Really great site with charts and things to keep records of your treatment
http://www.chemotherapy.com/pdf/health_treatment.pdf Being of a private sort of mind, I would suggest printing it out and keeping your records not on the internet.

Newly diagnosed - Hysteroctomy 12/29 - Grade 3
Hi. I am 63 and just found out I have uterine cancer - Grade 3 but won't know my Stage until after the hysteroctomy. I'm terrified - I have a Mom with Alzheimers & a 90 yr old dad still living. I'm needed as caregiver - I've never been sick with anything before. Now this...YIKES, I'm reading & that scares me. I'm listening…

How we might be able to turn on the p53 gene and have it again kill our cancer cells.
Everyone, This is spilled over from an idea I had earlier on one of these threads. Here's my ah ha moment. Okay, I’ve got it, how to attack the problem of commutative thought, common thought, however you choose to think of it for yourself. Our cancer is for the most part a p53 gene driven cancer. The p53 gene, which…

Here is a positive story for all
I thought I might like to share this story with you which was in our local paper. Dec. 10--When Washington County Common Pleas Judge Mark Mascara was diagnosed with stage four esophageal cancer this summer, he was told he had a 2 percent chance of survival. His family was told he probably wouldn't make it to spring. But…

Aren't I too young for this?
Everything I have found on papillary serous carsinoma is in women over the age of 50. I'm not even 43 yet and I've just been diagnosed. Haven't even had the hysterectomy yet - scheduled for December 29, 2009. Is there anyone else here as young as me? Or, am I the baby of the group?

Cramping, bloating, nausea
I am almost 2 years out from my total hysterectomy, (endometrial & upsc, stage IB) and it's about a 1-1/2 years since my last chemo treatment (no radiation). For the last 7 weeks, I've been experiencing menstrual-type cramps (I keep feeling like I need to run to the restroom to see if I've started my period, LOL),…

Just info. Getting closer
New Zealand scientists have developed tiny "light" particles that can seek out and destroy cancer cells. Victoria University synthetic chemist Richard Tilley says researchers have established the tools to detect cancer when it is at the stage of a single diseased cell - well ahead of some MRI scans which cannot identify…

Do Something Nice for Yourself
A post about the joy felt at decorating for the holiday made me think that we ALL really need to be in the habit of doing nice things for ourselves. No matter how small they are they bring a brightness to your day. My sister and I share December as a birthday month...10 days apart though I am 4 years older...55 and 59.…

First Post-Surgical Pelvic Exam
The first thing I have to say is that this first exam went much better than I anticipated. The nurse used warm water to take the ice off of the speculum, the doc was VERY gentle and it didn't take long. (Not much to look at anymore with only the vagina intact.) With pelvics and paps every 3 months for the next 2 years,…
