previously benign fna
I am trying to find out if it is possible for thyroid nodules to transition from benign to malignant over time. I have had two fine needle biopsies of a solitary thyroid nodule in the past 3 1/2 years and both have been benign. I went in for an ultrasound after 24 months and the nodule has grown in volume by 45%. My doctor…

Anxiety x10 - a rant
About three weeks ago my doctor adjusted my level of synthroid (I had a TT in November). He upped my dose from 88 mcg to 100mcg. About a weekish later, after my new dose of synthroid, I started to go ... well it feels like I'm insane. I am ANXIOUS about EVERYTHING to the point where I'm hardly eating anything. I pick these…

Please provide information and how much it hurts-for fine needle biopsy
Everyone, Please share information regarding fine needle biopsies? I have been reading some scarey accounts online and I am really nervous as I think I am going to need one possibly due to thyroid nodules. I read needle is supposed to be very small, yet one poster noted it felt more like a knitting needle. Yikes. Thank you.

Had a thyroid ultrasound because a ct in June noted "incidental finding" thryoid nodules
Everyone, I just finished up my treatments in November for uterine cancer 3C. I had surgery, 3 chemos, followed by 25 radiations, followed by 3 chemos. My bloodcounts (red, white, neutrophils) are still not back up to normal, but are starting to improve. My cancer marker test is good number and treatment is considered…

Hi all; Like my subject says, I'm post TT for papillary carcinoma, and now scheduled for RAI in 2 days. I think I fall into the borderline area concerning RAI. My surgeon was of that mind, my endo says 1 cm is the current cutoff point. I know parameters for RAI treatment change over time as more studies come in. Some…

Swollen neck 4 months after surgery
Hi Everyone, I had thyroid surgery in August 2010 and then RAI treatment in September. Everything seemed to be fine until last weekend. Began Chemo today....
I began chemo today, and so far, I feel fine. It's just so much to go through before actually getting the chemo. I had to eat ice chips to prevent sores in my mouth. Would someone please let me know if I'm jumping the gun or am I going to experience symptoms later?

New to the boards...my story...plus a few questions :)
Hello everyone. I want to share my story and ask a few questions about my next steps. First of all I was diagnosed with Papillary Carcinoma of the Thyroid on November 10, 2010. The nodule was found on August 2, 2010 by a very thorough ER doctor who would not stop until he found the reason for my symptoms. The nodule was so…

Nexevar is not working. Starting intravenous chemo.
I've been taking Nexevar since July for a mets to lungs. We were hoping that the nexevar would at least stop the growth of new nodules. But I had a CT scan Wednesday and yesterday, the doctor said the nodules have increased in size and are still multiplying. He's starting me on intravenous chemo on the 13th. I'm scared.…
