Confusion.
Last week a cousin underwent exploratory surgery. They discovered two "large" tumors, one on each ovary, that they say were malignant. It has already spread to several locations. They did a radical hysterectomy, an appendectomy, they removed part of the intestine and part of the colon. The whole family knew that much…

Hi All...this is Rebekah, Kathie's daughter again. I hope one of these days soon she will feel well enough to get on and chat with you guys herself, but for now you are stuck with me! Just wanted to update you that she had her third round of Gemzar/Cisplatin yesterday. We thought he was going to have to switch her to…

Same as Bonnie...
Sorry to say that my Mom`s counts are so low that the Onc said to wait 7 days and repeat the lab tests in order to see if she is ready for chemo.. I hope so because waiting for treatment doesn`t make me happy at all. Carboplat plus Gemzar wasn`t as aggresive on her as Cisplatin plus Gemzar. Cisplatin put her in bed for…

Me too!
I am starting 4 to 6 cycles of carboplatin and taxol tomorrow following my debulking surgery. So I join Bonnie in hope that by Christmas we can have a rest. I saw the surgeon yesterday and the surgery is healing fine, blood counts are good including the liver functions. They blasted the liver tumors away with radio wave…

Hello ladies, I finally got an answer if thats what one would call it!!! The Onc's and Internist all agree that for right now they are going to watch those enlarged lymph nodes and nodules on my left lung. They explained it as, we're not sure if this is something new, or has it always been there before..I've never had my…

TO KATHIE & REBEKAH
Rebekah: Saw your post on Bonnie's thread, and wanted to start the thread for you here so you can monitor the responses to your questions. So sorry Mom's not feeling well. Can they give her any pain meds to ease it up a bit? Is the growth a lymphocele that can be drained to alleviate her pain? I completely understand how…

The Greatest Loss
I have been staying clear (Pretty Much)of this site for many reasons. I felt guilty that I was doing so well and others were having such a rough time. I may be having my first recurrance. Time will tell, but that is not why I'm writting. I have recently lost the best friend that anyone could ever have. Sheila was 50 years…

Saundra's surgery
This is Saundra's husband Joe. Her debulking surgery on Friday was a huge success! Surgeons did remove the spleen, but left the colon alone. Three small lesions on liver were removed. She's recovering at Baylor Medical in Dallas. The docs are saying "optimum results obtained."

gemzar is working
Amazing news from the lab, my ca dropped from 121 to 34 after 3 treatments of gemzar! I had a full tumor load on the last ct scan. The pain went after the first dose and the my blood counts were low so the doc gave me reduced dose for 2nd and 3rd weeks. I knew it was working, but it blew my mind to drop #s that fast.…

Dating With Cancer
I want to know if anyone else fighting cancer has tried to get back into the "dating scene" after treatment. I have recurring Ovarian Cancer and I try to be honest about it with men I meet. However, it scares them away. I know this may seem like a ridiculous problem compared to our battles however, I want to live my life…

It is a port that can be used not only for chemo but also for injectable dye during CT scans. It is bigger than some of the…
