PET results and a forked path
Well, the news wasn't good, and I have failed R-CHOP and the cancer has still grown despite treatment. Though, it is still much smaller than my first PET scan! I'm going to take that as a great sign! Problems. Problems... I have to make a choice now, and it's a bit confounded. Of course, we have to act fast... but there's…

Non Hodgkins Lymphoma VA help for Viet Nam Vets
I just wanted to stick a little note up to let any Viet Nam Vets know that there is help for them via the VA, monitory as well as medically. Unlike folks with other cancers all a Viet Nam Vet has to do was be in the Viet Nam Theater to qualify. You don't have to have set foot on land or prove a date time or place.…

r-ice therapy
DOCTORS ARE WANTING MY FATHER IN LAW TO DO THE R-ICE TREATMENT FOR HI NHL BUT HE THINKS THAT THEY TOLD HIM THAT HE ONLY HAS A 1% SURVIVAL RATE IF HE DOES IT. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THIS IS TRUE? I DONT SEE WHY THE DOCTORS WOULD OFFER A TREATMENT THAT HAS A 99% CHANCE OF KILLING HIM.

PET & Waiting...
I had my PET scan yesterday.. I grilled the poor tech about the results and she had a good poker face. You know they can see things already.. but I know they're not allowed to say. The waiting is killing me.. I seriously need a hobby. One last gripe-- as I leave, the technician says that the results should be ready, at…

Called the hospital...
Hi guys, I called the hospital where Denise had her SCT and was told without having Denise's last name they could not help me. I told the admissions clerk the dates Denise was being treated and asked her if she could check those dates for a woman named Denise having a SCT done and she again once again said it's…

I'm a survivor....now what?
Hi everyone! My name is Stephanie and I am a survivor of Hodgkin's lymphoma (2b). After being miserably sick for almost two years, with no real explanation, I was finally diagnosed by an ENT. Although I knew cancer was a possibility from my relentless googling, I don't think anyone is really prepared for that news.…

Senator Spector Dies
Senator Arlen Spector died today. He had two separate bouts with HL, and then a brief bout with NHL. I rememered him because my doc told me years ago that his HL was the same strain that I had. He is an example of how lymphoma can morph into differening forms of the disease, usually years later. Of course, we are lucky in…

Primary bone lymphoma?
Hi folks, I'm one of those with early symptoms that most likely will turn out to be something benign and simple. I'm also one of those who hasn't felt these symptoms before and am scared. So I wonder if anyone here has any experience with this rare form of lymphoma. It mainly hits men in their 40's from what I've read. I'm…

Weekly Checkup
I had my first week checkup with my radiation onc yesterday. I finally got the opportunity to ask him how much bigger it was compared to my scan in June. He said 50%! I have a hard time believing this is slow growing. I am tempted to ask the transplant doc to do a second review of the biopsy to make sure it IS still…

Knee and hip
Dear Lisha and all, It seems after I was dx in late Sept, early Oct 2009 with NHL, so many stupid issues arose. Anyway,I went to see my doctor yesterday for an explanation of the xrays I had last week of my right hip and right knee. As far as the Oxycodone, 15 mg I take 3 times a day, he is not concerned or worried about…

younger brother(47yo) was diagnosed with lymphoma
Unfortunately he avoided going to the doctor for almost a year, according to him, and now he moved in with my family. I hope it is not too late as he gets out of breath just climbing stairs and most…

Febrile neutropenia!
Wowee, it is not fun! I was released from the hospital yesterday and so glad to be home. Surprisingly enough, it was actually my first hospital stay as an aware adult!
