Worried about Recurring Throat Cancer: Oct. 23, 2011
Hello, Last May, I had my five year check up with my throat doctor. Everything looked great and he told me that since everything has looked good, that he didn't need to see me for 2 years unless I had problems. (Five years ago I had squamous cell c. on the vocal chords. I had surgery and that was it. No chemo or radiation.…

It's Back
I am almost certain that my vocal cord cancer has returned. I am in need of some short success stories (say 50-100 words), where a returned cancer has been successfully treated. And I have a easy definition for success. A treatment which produced six-months of freedom from major symptoms. How's that for a chellenge. If…

Sunday Morning ER Visit
This is not exactly how I had my Sunday planned. My wife had to drive me into a local ER room for one of those 'unmentionable' problems we chemo patients get from time to time. They got me fixed up and gave me a home kit and some instructions on how to perform the 'Foley Shuffle' at home. I also got some more advice on…

My mom is three months out from the end of radiation and chemo. She had stage 4A base of tongue cancer that had spread to lymph nodes on both sides of the neck. It was HPV positive. 34 years ago today
I was just thinking - Jim and I were married 34 years ago today and we never could have imagined where our walk would take us. In retrospect, we definitely would have to say that although we would have preferred cancer not enter our lives (either through Jim or the many loved ones who have had cancer), we are closer today…

Medigap insurance
Had my first cancer in 1998 (base of tongue treated with radical neck dissection and radiation). Lots of speech disability persisted for years post treatment. Lost my health insurance when that company went bankrupt. No one would then underwrite me, of course. I was 45 at the time. I eventually qualified for Social…

Stoppers 4 question
I have been wanting to get Jim some Stoppers 4 and it is very reasonable however, I would buy in quantity to save shipping cost. My question is, "Does it have a flavor." Jim hates the taste of Biotene and all the other sprays and mouth rinses. I do not want to buy a bunch and he won't use it. Debbie

Is it just me ??
Or is anybody else noticing how truly slow this discussion board is in navigating from one discussion post to another ?? I've seen some topics that are still available to discuss since 2007. Is there no one deleting old posts that bog down the system/server ?? I would participate much more if I didn't have to wait soooo…
