Back For Cancer #3
Hi all. As a bit of background, I had IIA breast cancer in 2010, treated by lumpectomy, chemo, rads, and a year of Herceptin. At the time of this diagnosis imaging noted several nodules in my lungs that were believed to be related to previous history of severe asthma triggered by allergies. They were stable and did not…

I’m new here
Hello. I’m 53 years old and newly diagnosed with Stage 3 rectal cancer found during my first colonoscopy. I will be seeing Oncology on Monday. I saw my surgeon earlier this week who said that rectal cancer is often treated successfully with chemo/radiation only. So surgery might not be in my future. My husband and I have…

Bowel frequency after reversal
My husband had stage three colorectal cancer. He had a resection and a temporary colostomy bag. He has since had his bag reversed but, ever since then he has been dealing with frequent bowl movements. He will need to use the bathroom up to 15 times a day and each time he will pass just a small amount of stool. Has anyone…

Chemo or no chemo?
I was diagnosed with moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma of the descending colon in early June. I just had my colon resection 12 days ago. The surgeon removed my entire transverse colon because that is where the tumor was, not the descending colon as the GI doctor noted on his report. Luckily, he tattooed it so the…

He is experiencing lightheadedness most of the time (does not affect his balance or work, but is persistent). His oncologist now wants to do an MRI to make…

Stage 4 Adenocarcinoma, colon origin
I’m a 32 female with stage 4 metastatic adenocarcinoma with a partially obstructed bowel, long nodules, masses on my ovaries and lesion on my liver. Is there any hope for me? I keep hearing the five year statistics and that I’ll never be cancer free. I don’t want to suffer and wonder if the fight will be worth it.

Dad is almost 2 years NED
I believe I started counting NED status for my dad based off of his follow up visit after having finished chemo, so technically if we go from surgery its been longer but I prefer to underestimate. I suppose I am just putting this out there for the timelines sake and also to let people know its possible. While I am so…

Help for hiccups after starting FOLFIRINOX?
Yesterday was my first day of chemo - FOLFIRINOX for liver-only colon cancer (colon mass was removed by hemicolectomy). I have the pump giving 5-FU for another two days. The day went really well, almost no side effects. But since last night - not long after taking my sleeping med - I've had near-constant hiccups. If you've…
