I am doing very well Maggie...our magazine and related business has really taken off this year. I have been traveling for the past month and leave again tomorrow to go to Quilt Market (B2B show) in Salt Lake City. I need help with appetite
I feel like I shouldn't need this kind of help when I have been in treatment for so long, but I rarely had appetite problems before. Now it seems to be an on-going problem, off and on. The dietician at my cancer centre has given me all kinds of samples to try - ensure, boost + several others. None of these appeal to me. I…

No Chemo or Chemo Lite if you were in Remission?
Got some good scan results today. Doctor says I'm in remission, said all the tumors melted away. He gave me a choice of a chemo vacation or chemo lite. I choose the lite, just a little scared to be completely off of if. What would you do if it were you? Do you think I choose the right thing? Thanks for your opinions! Viv

Port-- dfficulty drawing blood from it..
The "medical assistant" has extreme difficulty drawing blood from my port. I've asked for trying to work this out with different positions, but she seems to be too busy to want to find the best solution. The onc said the "clot busters" aren't effective....radiolgy dept nurse recommended Retalase, but I had forgot the name…

anyone know % of people with KRAS
I'm happy for Linda's son that he about to start Erbitux. I think the way it works is a good arsenal against fighting the tumors. I was highly disappointed yesterday, found out I have KRAS-mutation, not the "wild" type. I will not be able to use Erbitux. I'm feeling really low, nothing goes my way. Have to start on…

Here I sit
Here I sit. Tired and sore and wishing I was home. MSKCC is a wonderful hospital with great staff and facilities. I am sure I could not have recovered from the surgery as quickly at home, but I have become restless and this place has begun to wear on me. I am scheduled to go home tomorrow, probably late afternoon. What an…

Countdown begins again
My mom had her CT results and they showed no new growth and what was there is either unchanged, smaller or undetectable (great news going into Mother's Day weekend). Our spirits have been much lifted! She will continue with the chemo every other week with another CT in 2 months. Hoping for good news again in 8 weeks.

A good laugh, at my expense
Little off topic, but I figure as the old saying goes, "Laughter is the best medicine", sooooo...Here's one at MY expense :D I've found proof that electrical impulses in the body travel faster than the speed of sound. Here's my empirical evidence... We've been having a HORRIBLE time with mice recently, and had purchased a…
