just an update
Hey all As someone pointed out to me in a message I havent been around lately. I have been so busy around here and in such a wonderful way I let this slip away. That little note from my friend was a reminder, not that she meant it as such she was merely being a concerned and caring friend and I took it in the manner she…

PBS: FRONTLINE - Facing Death
I know this is probably a topic that most people do not want to be thinking about right now, but I was wondering if anyone happened to watch this episode of FRONTLINE that aired last night on PBS. I found it to be really good. It dealt with issues that can arise from any number of situations. It wasn't about cancer per se.…

Another wonderful new experience today...breast MRI....and I broke the computer...ROFL!
So, THIS is an interesting test...lol!!! Especially for me, who can't raise my arms above my head for very long because of a 'frozen' shoulder... And then, after many minutes of banging...silence....then the voice of the tech comes on and says "Now I need to reboot the computer, it has developed a glitch...just lie still…

1/2 Way of Protocol Nearly Completed - Here's Where I'm At - Sundance Update
Well, I’m just about at the end of my rope now, I’m swinging by a thread here. This radiation has beaten me and has me on the ropes – combined with the 5fu pump, I’ve begun to really take a whippin’. I’m breathing very hard right now, gasping for breath sometimes…and there is pain in the front and back of my lung…

Hi Erin, You are in the right place...but I did have to look up cecum as it hadn't crossed my medical vocab before. I was going to reply to your post in Roger's thread on Disney, but was afraid it would get lost there. Lots of folks here with humor, sensitivity and knowledge...and willing to share with everyone. Welcome…

I just gave myself my first Neulasta shot!
Probably not a big deal for most of you. But I have been through 12 rounds of Folfox and 12 of Folfiri and never had to do this. I always got the pump nurse to give me my shot. But I did it on my own today!! I am proud of myself! Catherine

First Xelox and third drain
Hi All, I went for my first Xelox tx. I've never been so glad to take some pills as I was to take the Xeloda. My belly was huge again from the ascites, to the point the pressure was making me take vicodin, which I never do. I was glad to have it though. Any way, I had the cal/mag infusion and I think it helped the cold…

No cancer in the lungs!! B-12 info
My X-Ray came back fine. My thyroid is fine. I'm very high on B-12 vitamin (always had too much energy), I am asking the doc about this on my next appt. It appears I should be in the mid 100s and I'm in the mid 900s. I did get that B-12 injection while on vacation. I thought excess B-12 went in your urine, because it water…

MRI Tomorrow afternoon..UPDATE
Just to let Y'all know...went to onc today for 3 month check-up. I have been having a horribly painful lower back for the past 3 weeks and was trying to treat it as a pulled muscle. Nada! Finally figured out it wasn't. My onc *thinks* it might be a ruptured disc and if so, will refer me to her *back* doctor. She told me…

More good news today, despite the problem of the bloody radio machine ( broken).
As some of you know 3 weeks ago , l had a CT Scan and then the next day a PET, none of them show signals of cancer, despite this great results my CEA was still high, 8. Today I had my results from this morning labs. CEA dropped to normal levels 4! and no Folfiri on the last 3 weeks as I'm on radio! Not bad news! Hugs!
