lawsuit
I am 7 months into what looks like will be about a 2 year process, suing the doctor and clinic for not meeting the standard of care, ie documented history of 8 years of colon issues, family history of colon cancer and so forth. The gold standard of care is a colonoscopy and it was never mentioned. Oh, everything else was…

The doc wanted to do a CT right away, which ended up being clear. I don't know why the sudden elevation in these labs. Can anyone offer any info on this. Thanks.

Hi everyone, My husband will be starting chemo on Monday and I am concerned about him being strong enough. He lost 32 lbs in one month and has only gained about 9 back. I know they want to get started because he has so many spots on his liver, and they want to get it under control, but doesn't this drastic weight loss put…

As you all know I was referred to my Onocologist about my hip pain. They did some blood work and my liver count was up, how high I don't know they never would tell me. The Dr wanted a scan ugently, like right now of my liver. His nurse refused to schedule the scan as I don't have my new insurance card in my hand, (will…

I'm NED!
Thank all of you for your prayers and support. In Nov. I had my colon resection, and then last month took the second of two PET scans and I just heard from the ONC that no cancer showed for a second time and that I'm NED. Yippee! Since I refuse to dance naked alone, how about a Happy Naked Conga Line. Never mind! Now that…

Trans Anal Resection Surgery
My husband had trans anal resection surgery December 2008. The mass was T2 when diagnosed initially. They did shrink it down to a T1 with chemo/radiation. He's done two of his three month PET/CT and CT scans. The first CT showed a small spot on right lung. The second set last month, the PET showed two spots on lung and…

CEA <.05 !!!
Mom's cancer marker came back and we are thrilled! It's < .05 so oncs are quite pleased with where she is at. Of course, no follow up tests until November- so then we will be able to sigh an even bigger sigh of relief. But for now---WHOOOHOOO!!! Thanks for all the encouraging words to help us through this journey. I must…

6 weeks out from chemo now and got my port out (any diabetes people out here?)
Have to say that was the best reason for surgery I can think of. I am assuming that the doc wouldn't say ok if it wasn't (ok don't ever assume anything, but it was clean up chemo after the resection), but found it odd that I haven't had a scan or anything yet. I have to set up a colonoscopy appt before I see the Onc again…

Everyone please pray or send good energy or vibes for Donna. Keeping you in prayer. Pray each new day brings more healing. Just remember there are others as well as myself, who are keeping you in their thoughts and prayers. Encouraging to see how you can still offer support to others on a regular basis. Thanks for being a blessing:)Take care, Mannie

Hit the 5 year mark!
At my last onc appointment, I heard the words I have been hoping for: still No Evidence of Disease and CURED from this episode. I was diagnosed on my baseline colonscopy in '03, stage 3, 6 months of 5 FU and leuco, some bumps in the road with side effects, but no recurrance or mets. I found this site just before my chemo,…

Is chemo really worth it if it runs your body down?
Bear with me, I am having one of those frustrating days were I feel like I can't get ahead. I got my blood levels tested yesterday and my WBC and platelets are really low. So low they are going to decrease my Oxy a bit. The more I read about chemo and the side effects I start to panic. I want this cancer to be gone forever…

Abdominal pain ten weeks after surgery
Hello everyone! This question is about my boyfriend, David. He had gallbladder removal surgery over two months ago (we were in two different hospitals at the same time for surgery), and he is still having a lot of pain at the site of the drainage tube. His surgeon seems unconcerned, but David is worried something else…
