round 7 down, 5 to go!
Round 7, relatively easy. A bit more tired this time, and after sitting in a cold office (mine) all morning, my hands and feet were driving me nuts. By the way - tried the orange sunkist this time around and I am hooked! Now, not sure if I should ask this or not, but we seem to be able to ask about anything so...does…

CT Scans, Lungs and is it only a cold
Hello Semi-Colons, Hope everyone is doing great. I am once again going into a funk about an up and coming CT Scan. The last one I had showed a teeny 2 mm mark on my right lung that they were not sure about. I also had a large mark but it was determined to be I think calcification caused by radiation I had years ago for…

test results
Went to doctor, results of MRI. Well the liver lesion that showed on CT scan did show on MRI, did not light up PET. Not overly suspicious on MRI I guess, the doctor ordered another MRI in June to make sure it is not growing. Still trying to find a surgeon who will take me for opinion on underarm lump. Feel reassured with…

CT Scan Useless
I've read on other message boards that CT scans vs. PET scans are useless and that they wouldn't put any stock in what the CT scan says and the only reason that the doctors order CT scans instead of PET scans is because the insurance companies usually won't pay for the PET but they will for the CT. If the CT scan is so…

New Plan...ready for next round of chemo
I saw the oncologist yesterday. I have been so depressed, and the pain meds aren't working that well. I have been hiding in bed way too much, with the excuse that I can't sit (true) because of the rectum pain. I have so many adverse reactions and allergies to meds that I knew I didn't want antidepressants...what to do?…

Finally got to meet my surgeon, a Dr. Allen Bloom. Very nice, it would seem and knowledgeable. My surgery is immediate. Thursday, March 5. Very early in the day. I am really glad to be getting on with things. The sooner we begin, the sooner I'll know what I have to face down the road. Absolutely off the subject: I belong…

I read something today.....just before I started #7
Most successful people begin with two beliefs: the future can be better than the present, and I have the power to make it so. I think I am going to say this to myself every day! March on everyone....just wanted to share.

How does one best shop around and assure oneself that you are teamed with the best surgeon for your purposes? Giant colon seen on Times Square!!
AdAge magazine online had a brief about the following in its issue online today. This is great to know of this promotion. So, March is National Colon Cancer Awareness Month. I originally thought of putting up the tree and all the decorations in honor of it, but heck, it's just so much work! lol As victorious soldiers who have "graduated" from the disease by being NED, as well as those still active in the fight, take a minute to remind people…
