All Hail, Emily !!!!!
The sole purpose of this thread is to honor one of our own, Emily. A while back, Bud posted a thread about writing one's own eulogy. Here is what Em had to say: The thing I want to most be remembered by is my love for my husband and my kids. Being a mother and wife is the most important thing in my life. They are my world.…

A sappy day
I know many are going through a rough time right now and I think of you all often. I just wanted to share what happened yesterday with all of you on this site. My daughter graduated yesterday and received her MBA. I am so proud of her. I was crying yesterday even before the ceremony began. I had flashbacks of 2 years ago…

for grandma 047 a.k.a. Judy
Judy, I'm very concerned about your fever. PLEASE CALL YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY!!! When I was on chemo I was told to call about anything over 100 degrees. When you're immuno suppressed things can get out of hand quickly. My brother's mother-in-law ended up hospitalized and wheelchair bound for weeks after her fever shot…

I think I have scalp cancer now
Hello everyone, Okay, I know, I should go to the doctor. I will. I have an appointment with my oncologist and hematologist in the middle of June. But I have this thing on me head. I can't see it. But I feel it, my hand gravitates to it automatically. It started out as what I thought was a scab. I plucked it off. It kept…

Things are starting to look up some. I think Danny has a job. My son helped him get it. Its working at WalMart in the lube and tire change dept. Not much money-$6.65 hr. but better than he gets now. He's been laid off since October and taking care of me. It's going to be hard on him, leaving me. Please say a little prayer…

HOME after lung met surgery
Hi All - Just to let you know I am home from the hospital after my surgery for lung surgery. Yea! I shamelessly told everyone in the hospital that I wanted/planned to be home for my birthday, and sure enough -- they "sprung" me Thursday evening -- so I was home with my family for my bd on Friday. As some of you may recall,…

Sadness
Hello to everyone. I've been on a holiday for 7 days and returned to the news of one of our "semi-colons" death. It has saddened me to the depth of my soul. I have spent the past hour going back and reading all of Fitlisa's posts from the beginning. Then I cry and pray that we will someday find a cure for this horrible…

My CEA
oh, yeah, forgot to post in other reply about my CEA. it seems we've had several posts about it lately. Mine went from 9.1 in March, to 9.2 in April to 9.3 now. I know it's a slow increase. Do you think this is anything to worry about. I know when I had cancer before, my CEA was never elevated at all. What do you think?…

Kinda good news-for a change

Small bowel obstruction
Hi to everyone, On Sunday night, I had severe abdominal pains start in 2 spots. At 10pm. I had a BM, one of the pains went away, but the other stayed and got worse overnight. I called the doctor, she had me get an X-ray showing a blockage in the bowel, admitted me in the hospital, put me on IV, nothing by mouth to see if…

CEA going up, up, up....anyone?
My dad's cea level has been slowly rising since he was diagnosed with colon cancer in November. He underwent a colon resection. Of the 11 lymph nodes removed, 8 were found to have cancer in them. The surgeon believed that he had gotten out all of the tumor and saw no other lesions. My dad had a cat scan which showed no…

dad has back pain
ok, now i'm starting to get panicked. Dad, has his follow-up ct scans next week, and just recently started complaining about lower back pain. Of course my mind is starting to wander and I'm already thinking the worst. Is back pain a sign of recurrent colon cancer? Quick history, dad was diagnosed stage 3, last july 2004.…

Rising CEA Level
I know that this topic has been discussed multiple times but I have a question. Up until now, my dad's cea level has matched what was on the PET scan. If the level went up, we found 1 or 2 spots in his liver. In February, my dad had radiofrequency ablation to remove a spot, we were successful. His CEA was 2.8. In March it…
