CHEK2 Mutations for Breast Cancer
Here I go again. Had BC when I was 49 on the RT, and now in the LT breast at 68. Since I had a family history of BC and everyone seems to die in my family from cancer, I opted for the genetic testing. Knowledge is powerful but living with the results are scary. IS THERE ANYONE out there that has been through this? I am…

Starting to feel like the old me!
I wanted to share my feelings with all of the ladies here that have been here for me. After months of struggling with fear, anxiety, insomnia, dealing with incompetent medical providers, the list goes on. I work on it daily to pray, stay positive, get in shape physically. I have started to look for employment. Got my hair…

Not seeing a medical oncologist until after surgery
I saw a breast surgeon, a plastic surgeon, and a radiation oncologist in that order. Based on the info they provided me I opted for a lumpectomy with a lift and inter operative radiation. Recurrence
Hello all ! Brand new here. Just wanted to say hello and wish everyone the best. I wasn't here for my first cancer diagnosis in 2020. I wish I had found it then. However, I'm here for the second one. Found out a little over a week ago that one of my three original tumors has come back. Originally, I had 2 that were er/pr+…

Returning to work after a single mastectomy?
I know it's different for everyone, but how quickly did you all return to work after your mastectomy? I'm not having reconstruction. I'm 40 and otherwise healthy. Office-type job, not strenuous, although I would need to drive to it. When did you start to feel "better" again?

Lumpectomy or Mastectomy??? Reconstruction or no???
I'm newly diagnosed with stage 1 cancer, in my forties and trying to decide what to do. My oncologist has said I could have a lumpectomy and radiation or mastectomy. I am considering a double mastectomy because I have a strong family history of breast cancer. My mom had it twice. And I was high risk before already. Also…

Tamoxifen and hot flashes, ONCOTYPE score
Since I am on Tamoxifen (3 months), I have had hot flashes. How to get rid of them? Any ideas? How do I know Tamoxifen is doing its job? My ONCOTYPE score was 14 with a 4% possibility of recurrence in the next 9 years. What happens after 9 years?
