I spoke today with my trusted oncologist of 27 years
He had a totally different opinion from my local onc. He said forget trying to biopsy the lungs because they are not hypermetabolic (Yay Doris). He wants to wait on the pancreatic biopsy and, if it is negative, he wants another liver biopsy to make certain we are treating the cancer with the best drugs available. I also…

My blog
Hello Community, October 11th will mark 2 years since my stage 2B breast cancer diagnosis. In the last year I've spent a lot of time thinking about what kind of survivor I want to be and putting my professional experience as a researcher/writer and yoga teacher to work developing strategies to prevent a reoccurrence and…

I had dreaded EUP
And I did just fine. The anesthesiologist said she was going to give me propofol as it usually has less nausea associated with it. All my crazy mind could think of was “Wasn't propofol what killed Michael Jackson?” Lol, Danny said I woke up from procedure mumbling about Michael Jackson. Anyway, there is a mass on my…

Good news, bad news
The good news is that the PET scan did not show any problems with my pancreas. Also, my bones remain in remission. However, it did find a small area of hypermetabolism in the left liver and my CEA and liver enzymes remain elevated. Also, it says there are "unfavorable changes" from my May scan in the lungs with several new…

Question about cancer coming back
Hi all, my mama, 75, is a breast cancer survivor. She has been cancer free for close to 15 years now. She was so fortunate that her breast cancer was caught before it had spread to the lymph nodes. I forget the staging levels but I remember hers being a stage 1 or not even a stage 1 (if that is possible) She had it removed…

PET scan Tuesday; EUP on Wednesday
Well Kindreds, I definitely need you guys! I have a PET scheduled 8 AM Tuesday morning. First, pray that my blood sugar is OK, because, since they put in a stent in my pancreas, I have been having a little hyperglycemia. Then, I need you at that pesky PET. Wednesday, I have an Endoscopic US of the pancreas. In this fun…
