When I asked him why he wanted me to do 6, he said there have been studies showing benefit of 4, but would like to see me do 6 on the concept more is better.....not sure I think that is a good enough reason to…

He is running some more blood work, genetic testing, and has scheduled a PET scan on Thursday. Also will be taking Rads for 30 days. I have tried to educate myself about breast cancer, but…

For those that are in rads and have been following my rash after I finished rads, it is gone. I got the prescription last Friday and it started helping right away. It was so much better yesterday and then today, it is gone. No more itching, no more rash. And just in time. It was driving me crazy or should I say crazier?…

Let's start with the awesome news first....
Drumroll...my liver function tests (which were improved and nearly normal 3 weeks ago) are now all completely within normal limits. This is the very first time since February! I should have a PET scan shortly, but I believe in my heart my chemo is melting those 231 liver lesions. Appetite and nausea are slowly improving.…

CT Scan or not?
Hi there, I was dx 2 weeks ago and my well-meaning family doc promised she would get me the best onco and arrange scans etc etc etc. Well she did get me the best onco, but I am in for tests all this week, including a CT scan arranged by my family doc.... now, that is massive radiation (which, apparently, I am not allowed)…

What happened to the old me
The old me didn't cry. I think I cried maybe 3 times in the past five years. The new me cries at the drop of a hat. I hate the way I look when I pass a mirror. I'm bald now. My eyebrows are starting to fall out. My feet and ankles are swollen so that I don't even recognize them. I am tired all the time. I just want the old…

Dead Again A funeral service is held for a woman who just passed away. As the pallbearers carry the casket out, they accidentally bump into a wall. They hear a faint moan. They open the casket and find that the woman is actually alive. She lives for 10 more years and then dies. They have another funeral for her. At the end…

A little bit of encouraging news on the metastatic funding situation
This past week, Danny and I listened to an interview on NPR-a young woman with IBC highly critical of the current funding for metastatic disease. I have tried to google her and put a link here, but I am not remembering which program or her name? Now today, I see BCRF has pledged to contribute more to metastatic disease. I…

I just saw this on the Doctors Show. It is a website where a patient can register and have their friends and family donate to them. Works sorta like a Bridal Registry. Wow how cool is that. Hugs Donna

Red Devil
Hi Everyone, I am 4 down, 8 to go on Abraxane. I'm doing okay on that one - no real serious side effects - the worst has been the awful persistent sore throat. My oncologist is having me stay on Claritin D to get rid of the drainage. When I am done with Abraxane, I have 4 treatments of the Red Devil - once every 3 weeks. I…

Need simple crafty ideas to honor breast cancer survivor
One of the longtime members of our church, a breast cancer survivor, passed away on Thursday evening. Sue was quite elderly and had a number of health problems, so I'm not sure whether her breast cancer had metastasized, or if it was because of another health problem. Many of you know that I'm our church's Memorial Service…

My new "hair"
Not to be outdone by Eileen (Cypress Cynthia), I'm posting a picture of my new wig. Yep, I've gone blonde. This is about the color I colored my hair when I used to color it. Several years ago I let it go gray and I thought I was happy with gray hair, so I've been buying gray wigs. I don't think I'll ever go back to gray…

I so wish I could be there, but you all know my current battle…

I am having problems after finishing rads, anyone else?
I finished rads about 2 weeks ago and now I have started to itch. Has this happened to anyone else? I was hoping I would start to get better by now. Also, I am still exhausted. When will I get my energy back or will I? Thank you.
