In Memory of Lisa Gray Hughes
I am as shocked and saddened as all my pink sisters in the unexpected loss of our beautiful Lisa "Moopy". I was sitting here wondering what I could do to show my love for both her and her wonderful husband, Joe. There is a website titled gratefulness.org that is a very calming environment. There you can light a candle for…

Here I am again...
I'm a three year survivor, but here I come again with a problem. No, it's not a recurrence, but it's my tamoxifen. I may be faced with the decision to go off all estrogen blocking drugs within the next couple of weeks because of a severe allergic reaction. Evidently, my body cannot tolerate any meds that alter my body's…

Those darn Dutch are sooooo smart.....
"If by breast exam, abnormalities are found but subsequently found to be false, women will suffer from fear, which affects their quality of life negatively for a year. In women which breast cancer has been diagnosed, their uncertainty last much less long. This came from a research project of the university and hospitals in…

Off subject...mom update....'guardedly' good news...
My mom is still in ICU, but she is off the ventilator, and her white cell count is going down...my sister said she seems to respond more to stimulation... Upon further investigation, the doctors think she had a small stroke, affecting her left side. Again,it's a bit of 'wait and see' as to how much permanent damage she is…

Hi everyone, I'm new here and have a question about purchasing a camisole. I was selected.
I received a call yesterday from a research group from Yale. They are doing research on weight and breast cancer. They believe weight loss can reduce recurrence rates in those of us who are weight challenged. it is a six month program starting in Feb. I hope I'm in the group that gets weekly face to face counseling. The…

Meena and Moopy
My heart goes out to both of you. I've been off line the past few days and the first topic when I just got on was "bad news". Then I scrolled and saw Meena's post. Knowing what fighters you both are, I know that you will continue to fight and will carry on with courage and mental toughness. We will be your cheerleaders. My…

Pathology report - Not good news, not bad news, just news...
Just went for my pre-op visit today and discussed my pathology report with my surgeon. She said that all went well, removed 22 lymph nodes (only 3 were positive) and that chemo was very affective at shrinkng my tumor down to .4 cm before removal. The part that had me somewhat worried was that there were some DCIS cells…

Lymphedema garments - Day - Night - What do you have?
Just wondering - for those who deal with lymphedema - how many have both day and night garments? There is a big difference between them and how they work. I have day sleeves and gloves and a night sleeve with over sleeve. Susan

does it have to be a pet scan?
I have completed chemo treatment, my onc. wants me to get a pet scan in Feb. just to make sure everything is good. I would rather have an MRI because I don't want to be exposed to anymore unnecesary radiation. For Pet they inject glucose/with radiation so if there is any cancer it will light up. The receptionist mentioned…
