Relieved
Went for my 6th month PET scan today and was relieved to find out my pain is just two fractured ribs on my left side. No change in the bone mets that he can see but I am having some follow up tests to verify everything. I was so scared as my story mirrors Elizabeth Edwards in so many ways. I've been fighting since 2003…

One day at a time is all I can say
Had my second chemo. of Acromycin & Cytoxin, and just shaved my head. I'm doing well so far, just some queeziness and tired. Missing my hair. I'm happy that my daughter seems to be dealing well with all that's going on with me but not offering much help around the home. she is 13, (need I say more). I am recently separated…

What is your treatment center like?
All of my non-cancer healthcare providers have wonderful waiting areas, great staff, etc. My rads onc's office is pleasant and has a warm, caring staff. My med onc's office however, is cold, unfriendly and unwelcoming. My Dr is okay and I have confidence in him. His bedside manner is cordial. I love his Nurse Practioner…

Male or Female?
You might not have known this, but a lot of non-living objects are actually either male or female. Here are some examples: FREEZER BAGS: They are male, because they hold everything in, but you can see right through them. PHOTOCOPIERS: These are female, because once turned off; it takes a while to warm them up again. They…

Got My Ornament and More
Dear Patricia, From Ohio When I saw the brown box sitting in my mailbox, I got butterflies in my stomach because I knew it was from my CSN sister. Since I don't have a digital camera, I will describe what was in the box. The ornament is a dark brown bear wearing a cloth red and white candy-striped scarf. The bear is…

Options Question
Yesterday I received notice that my insurance company denied my drs. request for me to have a PET Scan. They deemed it medically unnecessary. What other tests can the onc. do to make sure the cancer is gone. My blood work is clear for now but by the time it shows up in the blood it is probably more advanced. I finished…

Update - Haven't logged on in a while
Well, I've had my second Taxotere. I had a LOT of pain the weekend after the first one. Saw the Dr. before this one and he decided to forgo my Neulasta shot this time around to see if that helps. My counts have been consistently good all through the A/C and up to this point, so we're hoping they'll stay up even without the…

Switched from Arimidex to Tamoxifen?
Has anyone been switched from Arimidex to Tamoxifen? I have been on Arimidex for 16 months and have been suffering from severe back, hand and shoulder pain. My oncologist tried me on the other AIs but they were even worse. So now he is considering Tamoxifen. I am wondering if the pain will really get better. Thanks, Scout

Ideas on having a partner you're not married to? Fears of losing a relationship when you have canc
I’m new, I need a forum like this. I’m hoping there are a few ladies out there like me, trying to hold on to a new relationship. My kids are in college or through college. I separated nearly a year ago, and then found out I had breast cancer in June. I had just met a new guy and the relationship was going well. He stuck…
