I've been on cancer road for year now. My question is ummmm, which is worse ( see told you it was stupid) triple neg or triple positive? Is it a question of chemo, which is more effective, easier to get rid of? Always wanted to ask but...

New diagnosis, pathology, and surgery
Well I finally got some sense made of my pathology report. It looks like I'm 'almost' triple negative, with progesterone receptor being a weak positive at 1-5%. 1.5 cm mass, grade 3. I'll be having a mastectomy, with expanders put in immediately, followed by chemotherapy-4 rounds of cytoxan/adriamycin, and then 2 rounds of…

New Member
Hello everyone- I've just joined. The name I selected "Double Whammy" is because I was diagnosed with both breast and endometrial cancers in late April 2010. Both were the result of routine mammography and Pap smear - and this is why we get them. To date I've had a lumpectomy and sentinal node biopsy (May 11). The breast…

has anyone else gained weight on chemo?
I know this shouldn't be of concern to me, fighting my cancer should (and is), but...I have gained about 10 pounds since I started chemo. I am less active, yes, but still exercise and my eating habits have been about the same. I am curious if others have and if so, do you lose it when chemo is done??? Thanks all!!!

One Down; Seven to Go
First AC went smoothly, with the exception of one of the chemo nurses who thinks Donna should get a port, and is making the wrong decision about getting a real hair wig; but another nurse said just wait and see about the port, you can always get one later, and get the wig that you are most comfortable with. Donna really…

36 with breast cancer - new to the family here
I had a lumpectomy and three lymph nodes removed three weeks ago and start six months of chemo next Thursday. I scared myself on the web since I'm triple negative, but was smart enough to put the iPad down and play with my dogs instead. Anyone else out there in their 30's?

coughing after radiation is over
I was finished 5 weeks ago. About a week now I've had a phlegmy cough, like lung congestion, just a few times a day. Not bad, I'm just aware of it. Is it related to radiation treatment?

I take arimidex, work, etc. But I feel so tired much of the time. I take the multivitamins, etc., that are prescribed for me. I worry that it is a sign of another cancer in my body. Next onco check up is in August. Does anyone else ever feel this way?

I'm fairly new here and would love to know where you are all from. If it's too personal I understand but it is interesting to me. I get clues from some of you, like in the wine question. The Californians answered of course! LOL> I'm from Massachusetts , down on Ol' Cape Cod. Thanks, Wanda

Anyone else feel the earthquake a little while ago??
I'm in Michigan and we all felt it in the building in which I work. I thought I was just starting to have the mother of all hot flashes as my chair was shaking! I looked over at my co-worker and she had a weird look on her face! She said she thought she was having a hot flash, too!! Turns out Canada, Michigan and few other…

MyTurnNow - Mammo results
Well, first of all, it was a little tight in the room but I was so thankful to have all of you with me. You may have even heard me talking to you while I was waiting for the results of the ultrasound. I didn't say anything on the board but I had a "lump" that I noticed about 2-3 weeks ago. Needless to say, I was concerned…

Did you have a feeling?
Before you were diagnosed with cancer, did you have a feeling that something was wrong, even before you found the lump or had any symptoms. Was there something nagging at you that the sky was about to fall down on you? Did you wake up to a black aura and a feeling of dread? Did you dream of sitting in a doctor office while…

Please don't call the Mary Jane cops on me
OK, as I've said before, I'm prepping for chemo on July 1. Just checking what the consensus is on marijuana for nausea. It's supposedly legal here, but nearly impossible to get...but I can get the regular stuff (good, not laced with crap). Does it work? Better in brownies or smoked? Are there any negatives? Is this an…

Radiology and diet
I just completed my 6th TAC less than a week ago and now I am moving down the hall to the radiology department for *gulp* radiation. Ha, gulp, like I can even taste anything. Anyway, my hematologist encouraged me to eat anything while running the chemo gauntlet. I did not suffer nausea, I ate what I could, and maintained…

Cancer cells killed by chemotherapy may cause cancer to spread..
Chemotherapy is known to come with a long list of side effects -- from debilitating nausea and hair loss to extreme fatigue -- and in many cases, it does not cure or even stop cancer from progressing. But what if chemotherapy does something no one has realized before during all the decades it has been in use? What if chemo…
