Zometa round 1, laid me low
This past Friday I went for my first Zometa infusion. I had to have "training" first, to learn about the possible side affects, and what I can do about them. (Zometa is a drug that is used to strengthen bones against the affects of Femara) It seemed to go very well, and I went out of there feeling very good. I'm thinking…

Surgery THEN chemo?
Hola! Ok I have/had a fibroid that went amuck. It was dx 18mo or so. They (radiologist) said " fibroid" back off the caffiene. I did not question anyone (My stupid). My tumor grew from approx. 2.0 x 1.5cm to 5.0 x 3.5cm in 2mos. Needless to say I wanted it off my chest. It was in the 1200 position, high up. It's like I…

I'm so upset with my doctor!
It has been well over a month now since my mastectomy, and I have been experiencing shortness of breath, dizzy spells, and feeling very tired. I was dx'd with a malignant phyllodes tumor, and suppossedly did not need follow-up treatment, because all of the tumor was removed and this type doesn't respond to treatment other…

Fashion Question
If you are a Project Runway fan you know that in fashion "one day you are in and the next day you are out" , well that is kind of like my schedule for surgery. I will be in the hospital for 23 hours ( insurance considers my procedure an outpatient procedure) so not quite a day. My question is what do I pack to wear home…

Am I Mental?
Darryl and Harold were in a mental institution. The place had an unusual annual contest, picking two of the best patients and giving them two questions. If they got them correct, they were deemed cured and free to go. Darryl was called into the doctor s office first and asked if he understood that he'd be free if he…

Help! I overdid the arm exercises 3 wks post-op. It hurts! Also 1st Chemo in 2 days.
This is the first time I've posted anything on this site. Since my Partial Mastectomy 3 wks ago I've been making gradual progress with the exercises the Dr. recommended: walking my fingers across my head to my opposite ear. However, I decided to try a few repetitions of exercises listed in the ACS booklet yesterday. I…

I have been hanging around here for a while just keeping up with everyone. It has been a while since I posted, but I am back now. The chemotheraphy treatments has not been too bad. Ran my first Mud Bog this afternoon!
YUP - I ran in my first Mud Bog this afternoon and came in 3rd ($30)! A while ago I gave Son my IH Scout. It had been my daily drive for 4 1/2 years before I got something different to drive (it's real cold here in the winter and it has a LOT of 'pneumonia holes') and it had just sat for 4 1/2 - 5 years til Son got it…

Hello everyone. This is my second day post chemo and things are going well except for a mild amount of nausea, which the medications are taking care of. Sicilian on board
I am brand new. I have had a lumpectomy and will be starting chemo this week. I am an emotional wreck! As someone who follows Edgar Cayce and who is a certified personal trainer, it is hard to reconcile shooting poison into my viens. I will do the chemo but it scares me more than the cancer. I believe I will be getting…

Birthday Party in Vegas!
What a fun week I had, and every day was a celebration. My brother and his wife surprised me and came in from San Diego, as well as several friends. All had made reservations without telling me, so it was a party for sure. That's just what I needed to really get my mind off of medical issues, and it was uplifting to just…

Headache's
Is anyone having headache's with Taxol & Hercepitin. I don't know if this is from treatment, flu shot or stress. Flu shot was done over a week ago so I don't think it would be that. Did not have this while on AC. Only going on #4 round. Just something new for me.

Anyone else doing well on Arimidex?
Luckily, I am taking Arimidex without obvious side effects. I can see that many of you have severe side effects and some have no choice but to go off of them. I think it is important to tell the whole story, so I am hoping to hear from others who like me are doing fine on this drug so far. I hope it will help newbies who…

I'm 67 and on Medicare with a supplement through AARP. I recently received notification that one of the benefits was being able to participate, at no cost to me, in a program called, "Silver Sneakers." Combine this with research on the ACS information network that 1 and 1/2 hours of walking at a pace of 2 -3 miles per hour…

Sunday Jokes
A NEW PASTOR A new pastor was visiting in the homes of his parishioners. At one house it seemed obvious that someone was at home, but no answer came to his repeated knocks at the door. Therefore, he took out a business card and wrote 'Revelation 3:20' on the back of it and stuck it in the door. When the offering was…

Back pain
Hi all,,,I am new here,,,just had my first of 6 chemo treatments on Monday, followed by a shot of Neulasta the following day. They said that bone pain was a side effect of Neulasta, and last night I was awakened with a pounding pain in the small of my spine...not my back, as if it was kidkeys, but in the spine. Did any of…
