CA 125 down
After a month on Tamoxifen my CA 125 has gone down from 115 to 67. I am so happy. I didn't expect good news so fast. My onc said it would take a while. I had an email from Kaiser and when I tried to check it last night I couldn't get to the site. I thought it was a reminder of my appointment on Thursday. I just checked and…

Getting through those nights
Hi Loves... I know I've mentioned my method for getting through those long nights before, but since we have so many new faces on board, I thought I'd throw it out again. I load up my MP3 player with audiobooks and it's my constant companion when I trying to get to sleep or when I wake up in middle of the night. You can't…

I'm Home Ladies!!
After a 5 day hospital stay with pneumonia, I actually feel human again. My appetite is returning back to normal. Coughing quite a bit, the coughs are productive at least. No fever now for over 48 hours. I'm certain my dr. will be making some adjustments to the Cistplatin dosages. :) Carla

Onc appointment update
Hello Dear Ladies I have positive and not so positive news. Yesterday I had a visit with my onc to discuss the possible abscess. She does not believe the pocket of fluid is an abscess or infection. Hooray! She did say that I need to be mindful of any symptom changes, such as fever, chills, worse pain etc. and call right…

Good news from urologist
The urologist found absolutely nothing suspicious when he examined the inside my bladder this afternoon. Thank goodness, no new cancer! He did see one very small bladder "stone", actually a bladder "grain of sand", probably from mineral buildup but nothing to worry about. Thank you all for your prayers and good wishes.…

Pneumonia
The dr. said that some pneumonia showed up in my left lung. I've never had pneumonia before. Fever does seem to be decreasing for longer periods of time after Tylenol. Oh well. At least we know what's wrong. Carla

Post Chemo Side Effects
I wonder why my oncologist does not address the problems I've had post chemo...pain in my feet, which has gotten better over these past few months and now pain in my knee joints. She listens to me when I tell her about these symptons and she notes them, but doesn't give any explanation about them. It's like now that I'm…

CA-125 Count Elevated after 2 Chemo Treatments
My CA-125 count was 4788 when I started Chemo. It is now at 12920 after 2 chemo treatments. I went ahead and had a 3rd treatment. My oncologist was pleased because the tumor is shrinking after 1 treatment. He said that I was responding to the chemo great. I feel good other than when I have the treatments. He is at a loss…

Hey Ladies, in the hospital
My fever went up to over 103 this morning. My white counts have bottomed out. 2 or 3 day stay for fluids and antibiotics. I do not like Cistplatin. And this is only round 1 of 6. Carla

Why won't my fever break?
Just now took my temp. It was 101.8. Of course, I've only been on my antibiotic since yesterday. I take two daily, so I've had 3 doses. Just miserable. I think it's a sinus infection. I've coughed and spit a bunch of crud out today. Cistplatin, if this is only round 1 of 6, what lies ahead? UGH! On a positive note, after a…
