Bulldog2 Posts: 1 Joined: Sep 2021 Sep 29, 2021 - 6:50 pm LONSURF New Hi. My oncologist suggested I start on the Lonsurf regimen in a few weeks. Been reading the posts here and it looks like Longsurf only works for 10-12% of patients who take it. Some get terrible side effects, others hardly any. I was diagnosed with stage…

Pam's Scan Results and What Follows
It was very unusual not to hear promptly from the Oncologist about Pam's CT scan. He has always been on top of these things. The report was finally posted on MyChart on Friday last. The report found small lesions in the lungs that have remained stable in size and number. The Liver mets continued to shrink and some…

Promised update on kyphoplasty
I'm back from my 2 procedures this week at Sloan Kettering. First was the kidney stent, which immediately relieved my very severe hip pain that I had no idea was kidney- related. The relief is amazing. Kyphoplasty was the next day. Painless procedure done under general anesthesia. I don't know what pain relief it provided…

September 2017 after a year of surgery, radiation and chemo to resolve initial cancer, I had my 6 month ct and there was 2 small nodules in my left lung. We waited 3 months to see if it would go away. Stressful 3 months to say the least. Well December came and we did another and, of course, they had grown. My cancer had…

Eyes on the Sparrow (trials)
Super old, American pop-culture obsessed people will immediately remember the title of this thread as the title to the theme of the old cop show "Baretta." Others will just scratch their head. The reasons I was thinking about it has little to do with cancer, but then again, the lyrics go: Keep your eye on the sparrow, When…

Some things discussed in Germany
Hello, Atm I am more active with German people suffering from colon cancer. I figured out 2 interesting things for people to consider. Both of them do lack scientific research for now but there is no harm. Sulforaphan: appearantly this substance blocks cancer growth and increases the effectiveness of chemotherapy. For now…

When it rains, it pours. Kyphoplasty, anyone?
My latest scans show decrease in size for my lung mets, but increase in size and number of my spinal mets. Basically, I'm now on palliative care; no cure options. My chemo is being changed from Irinotecan and Avastin to Lonsurf and Avastin. I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the idea that this cancer will kill…

Recently diagnosed
I was diagnosed with Colon Cancer on July 19, 2021. I had surgery on August 24th to remove the tumor in my colon and a tumor was also found on my liver that was removed. A CT scan was done prior to surger and a "likely cyst" was noted on my liver, well guess that was wrong. So now facing Stage 4 colon cancer. Still waiting…
