Cea rising
Damn. its not a surprise, but isn't it funny how we trick our minds to think, hey maybe everything will be okay. Two days after getting the good news of a clean pet scan earlier this month, we find out cea went up to 2.5. but he had a stomach bug so hey maybe it's just that. Three weeks later it's 8. It appears to be an…

Colonoscopy tomorrow
Not really worried about my colon as my cancer was rectal and I think that total removal took care of things locally. I'm very relaxed. My next scan is going to be when the anxiety hits. It'll be the two year mark which will put me in the clear and in a great position. That means I have until July to just be. It feels nice…

You qualify for oxygen, says the Doc
Saw the lung specialist today, and sitting my oxygen is 97 saturation and even though I complained about breathing for some time. the 100 to 97% saturation level they all admired would make me think it must just be chemo. Then lower left lobe showed collasped on January CT scan. When the lung doctor took me for a walk with…

To all of my Northeastern friends, please stay safe and warm during this blizzard. It looks like we're in for quite the storm tonight! Double posts - Edit - Delete - Question for the admins
I am grateful for the forum admins who come around and clean up the double post, and anything else that needs doing (though this is a really wonderful, polite site, so no nasty posts as I've found on other forums). I know when I double post I can't delete it, but I can remove the text and add an apology or smiley, but is…

Follow-up Test Results (mostly) In
January is follow-up testing month for me, and this is my first set of annual follow-up tests. The results are mostly in, so I thought I'd share my experience. The first step was a CEA test done after my port was flushed on New Year's Eve. It came in at 0.5 (down from 0.9 on the date of my diagnosis last year), so that's…

Interesting - well, for me at least.
So, I haven't been on the forum much these past weeks, and I began to wonder why. I put on my thinking cap, looked back at my forum activity and realized that a pattern was forming. When I am gearing up for a scan, it seems that I find it hard to read the sad forum posts, so I just stay away. I don't exactly suffer from…
