Interesting Article in Time Magazine: "Sabotage - Why Cancer Vaccines Don't Work"
http://healthland.time.com/2013/03/05/self-sabotage-why-cancer-vaccines-dont-work/ Some interesting fodder between theories and a test tube vs the results in a real life application... Just thought I'd post the link for anyone interested. There was a line from an old butter spread commercial in the 60's that said... "It's…

All is good! =>
Well, turns out the 'problem' with Jason's port wasn't a problem with 'it' at all....it was 2 incompetent nurses & 1 doctor that apparently needs glasses. (there were 2 nurses who tried to access it yesterday without success & then the hospital dr. looked at the x-ray & said the port was put in upside down....) Well, the…

update: disease progression
Thanks again to Maureen for 'checking up' on me and to other for kind words. My situation is not great -- last few scans have shown disease progression -- and I am running out of options for treatment. I will be having a biopsy tomorrow to harvest some malignant tissue and test whether I might be a good candidate for…

I'm SO grateful my cancer was discovered early, but I weep so for those who have…

Thyroid based Cancer Therapy
I was looking at some latest research out of Israel, and one of the papers concluded that manipulating the thyroid function offers a potentially a new and novel approach in the treatment of cancer. Well I was also familiar with the work of DR. Jurkovic, and to hate to say it, but this is neither new or novel as this doctor…

Buzz's daughter sang 'for him'
Buzz's little girl sang a solo in church last week in his honor. My CC friend was sent a link to the song on the church website by the music minister at Buzz's church. Buzz was too ill to go to church that day but his music director said he visited later in the week and Buzz had been out of the house and seemed to be…

Finished up treatment #2 on Friday. Nausea was mild this time since I started taking the meds right away instead of waiting for the nausea to set in. I even went to work on Thursday with my chemo pack on. Only side effect I've had this time was being tired. Slept since Friday afternoon off and on until around noon today.…

ONLY chemo without surgery? anyone?
I have a new question to ask....Has anyone here (Stage 4) had ONLY chemo without surgery? And if so, why didn't you have surgery & how did it go? I'm asking because there is always the chance the dr's won't be able to take out Jason's tumor, if the chemo doesn't shrink it enough or if after chemo the dr. still feels like…

Update on Steve - Update. Have some questions
Thank you everyone for all the thoughts and prayers for Steve and I over these past couple weeks. He was discharged from the hospital last night. 16 days in the hospital. Longer hospital stay and more of an ordeal than HIPEC, just to put it into perspective. For those who aren't aware, he developed a spontaneous hematoma…

Just Checking in
Hi everyone and especially to my old Folfox Club people. Some of the original number are still around. I just finished another surgery a couple of weeks ago to repair duel hernias. It turned out when I got chemo-inducted cirrhosis and my abdomen was flooded the pressure caused the hernias. Not a fun procedure and a lot of…
