Colostomy blood
Hubby had a colostomy in January. Last 3 weeks he is seeing blood in the pouch. Anyone have experience with this. They are doing a colonoscopy through the stoma next Monday. We know he has a tumor near the rectum, but they bypassed this when they did the colostomy. He also has liver tumors but do they bleed? I know this is…

Who has an Ostomy?
I've been thinking it might be useful to have a list of those with an ostomy. If you care to be part of the list, please note the following: Colostomy or Ileostomy? Permanent or temporary? If temporary, have you had the take down surgery? This would be helpful list to PM to any new member with ostomy questions, and I would…

expressing emotions
Off topic, Kinda. I have been reading this board for a month or so, & have been amazed at how everyone, especially the men, are able to put their emotions on paper. It is unusal for men to be so open, about their feelings. Some women too of course. Now here are my questions. 1. Has everyone always been this forthcoming?…

This was excerpted out of many many posts from this lady from the very first time she posted in here to present. Its very short but pulled small bits from a period of a year to show how we never ever need to give up, no matter the prognosis. This lady is one of many that exemplifies the words Survivor......Here are a few…

Ever since my resection have had runny stomach, so was instructed to take Immodium, and have done so ever since Dec. Pet/CT results and update
Well, I've had my last BIG hurrah, but still plan to have many more small ones. My oncologist says that in hindsight, he shouldn't have let me have such a long break. But we don't do hindsight... because if I did that for my original complaints and misdiagnosis, and any treatment decisions made along the way, there are…

A little good news
Our local Toronto newspaper had an article in yesterday's newspaper. They have been publishing articles on cancer - people living with it, who have recovered, etc, as it is Cancer Month. This article talked generally about cancer + said how dramatically our chances for longer term survival go up when we reach 1 year since…

First the good news...
It is Friday! Okay, I am unemployed and for me every day is a Friday. At least it might as well be I usually don't know what day of he week it is unless someone tells me. But I had my appointment at MSKCC yesterday and that was Thursday, so using a bit of deductive reasoning with the only assumption being I did not sleep…
