Severe jaw pain/spasms on Oxy?
Anyone else have severe jaw pains or spasms while on oxaliplatin? What cycle did it start? Did it get worse, or stay the same? I'm asking so I can give this info back to my onc, who was skeptical that my jaw pain and spasms are from the oxy. I KNOW they are. I can live with them, as long as they don't become permanent.

Chemo round #2
Well yesterday was the scheduled start of round #2. But after seeing my labs, the oncologist said my blood work was not good. My hemoglobin dropped to 11, borderline. My WBC dropped to 3, borderline. My platelets are at 200 (ok for chemo). But my neutrophils were at 1 (too low for chemo, they don't like you to be under…

Recurrence at surgical site
Hello. My husband's Wednesday CT scan results are in and his oncologist told us this morning that he has a small mass located in his abdominal wall. (The CT scan indicates that the mass has NOT penetrated through the abdominal wall into the abdomen and has good margins to permit the surgeon to excise the mass. Our…

H1N1 Question
My son is getting the H1N1 mist vaccine today. I have read that there is a slight chance that the virus can be spread after getting the mist because it is live. My onc said that I can not get H1N1 vaccine because it is live. Does anyone know if I can get H1N1 from someone who has been vaccinated, or if my 3 week old…

Hair Color Question
Those that dye your hair did you wait 6 months after the chemo to dye it again? I have heard you should wait that long, but I want to dye it sooner. I finished chemo 6/23, do you think it is still too soon? I really did not lose much hair, but I am sick of the gray. LOL thanks in advance for you help.

One year ago today, I woke up with the most excruciating pain I had ever felt in my life. Three ago (last year) I went to the doc because I thought I was constipated. They sent me home and told me to try an enema. Two days (last year) ago there was more pain, and since I couldn't get to see the doc since they were too…

Maybe the folks on the east coast can get Christmas Cards to NOAH on time. Noah is unlikely to survive into the new year, and his mother has put out a request for Christmas cards for the family’s Christmas celebration this weekend. http://www.inquisitr.com/46377/noah-biorkman/

Didn't want to steal the thread, but.... No, you're not the only one. I thought that last year, and until recently I thought I was! I'm not "from" here, but have been here - well, this is my 5th winter, so I'm sort of used to it now - if there is such a thing in this state! I looked up Bowen's disease, since I have never…

I am confused
To give a quick history, I am 39 yrs old and dx in July with Stage IV colon cancer. According to my onconlogist, it had spread to my abdomen area, lungs, lymph nodes in my neck and a quarter size spot on my liver. She told me I have too much "disease" to operate on so I started Folfox 6 with Avastin (Avastin started in…

Here I am again...
Sorry I've been off the board, but I have been traveling for two weeks, and for two weeks prior to that I had the H1N1 virus. Man, that sucked! I've now met with all 3 doctors (oncology, gastro and surgeon) and they are all in agreement that the radiation damage to my colon is too severe to correct. it just won't heal. 9…
