LIVER METS, SURGERY OR NOT
Hi all, My dad has been diagnosed for colon cancer since March 2007 and just recently ct scan showed mets to liver with 6 tiny tumours of less than 1cm. We have had many professional opinions whether he should have surgery, RFA or simply just continue chemo. We have heard that his liver is not healthy enough to risk to…

Still in Limbo - Inconclusive
After meeting with the surgeon tonite, we are, unfortunately, still in limbo but feel a tiny bit encouraged. The largest growth seen on the ct/mri may be scar tissue or may not be. The MRI cannot definitively tell the difference. A PET scan will now be scheduled, and even if it lights up, a biopsy may need to be done to…

ct results
Not what I needed.....all tumors are still there, some are stable some have grown ( Dr. not concerned cause they only grew 1-3 mm) but there are 2 new ones. So we are changing cocktails..we are going from Erbitux & CPT 11 to Folfox Plus . That cocktail ( without Avastin) kept me in remission fro a year...so now we are…

Dr. Hamer.
Any opinions/theories/experiences with Dr. Hamer's theory that before the development of the Cancer tumor a lesion will be visible on a brain scan that looks like a stroke to the untrained eye. The lesion is caused by emotional trauma and the area of the brain that it develops in will determine the later tumor. The theory…

Follow up
I would be interested to know how regularly you have follow up tests in the US (a lot more frequently than we do in the UK, for sure!). I was diagnosed with Stage III colon cancer in February 2007 and finished chemotherapy in August. I had a scan in September (all clear!) and am scheduled to have a colonoscopy in February…

The end of an era...
Hi All, Just wanted to share that I got my port removed last Friday. When it was done I felt like I had put the majority of the c--p behind me, although I realize that it will never REALLY be behind me. It just felt great to get the Alien out of my chest. I know, I know. It was a godsend; no puncturing veins every time, no…

Intimacy
Ok Here it goes, an embarrassing topic but one that I'm in need of support on. To be honest sex has taken a back seat since my diagnosis. My hubby of 23 years has been very patient but he's beginning to hint for more, and lets face it we are only 41 and not ready to let go of this part of our relationship. The problem…

- after 2 rounds of chemo the doctor is talking about removing the port/ central line. From what I read people have chemo for months and months for colon cancer. - The doctor IS talking about removing the "rest of the colon tumor" - but does 2 treatment sound like it would make a tumor small enough?! - are the ports /…

Apprehension, Excitement & Disappointment
The day is greeting me with both apprehension and excitement. Our appearance on the Montel Williams show airs today. The thought of saving just one life brings me…

Burned medical records
Today we burned my mom's medical records. In June, my husband and I bought a piece of property out in the country. We are city folks and are used to things like city water, sewer, and trash. So, moving the country has been quite a change for us. We know nothing about well water, septic tanks, or flood irrigating. We are…
