Good news to satrt the New Year!
I had my first Mammo since my diagnosis at the beginning of January 2011. It was all clear. No evidence of disease. YIPEE! I got a little scared when they called me in for more pictures on my "good boob". It ended up being fine. I was so nervous waiting for the results, but I could feel my "pink sisters" with me in spirit.…

Breast implants
I am an ovarian cancer patient but I am BRCA 2 positive and the doctor has suggested I have a bilateral mastectomy. He feels the implants would be best due to what I have already been thru and the fear that the ovarian cancer could return at any time. Does anyone have experience with this and could tell me what to expect…

Another Bus today --- laughs_a_lot is having a surgical biopsy today, 12/30/11
Praying and hoping ... its nothing -- and that the micro-calcifications found on your baseline mammo, are just a part of scar tissue and nothing more. I don't know if you have told your family -- but we here (Family of Sisters in PINK), will be there with you -- holding your hand, watching your Doctors -- and chanting 'We…

Opinions please and thank you
So today will be #6 of 15 whole brain rads. Not as freaked by these rads as I was chest, WTH? would think brain would be scarier than chest. So for a week now I have been doing NOTHING. Eating, fighting reflux due to eating and steroids. Being driven like Miss Daisy the 2 hr round trip to rads, that is about it. I just…

OMG you all are so awesome!!!
Okay, I've been processing. I've had a couple of glasses of my favorite Chard, I've cried, I've talked to my son, my sis and my hubby. The only thing I know for sure is that breast cancer absolutely sucks--big time! Apparently I won't know any more than I know right now until I (1) speak to my oncologist and (2) have a…

It's gonna be a very long weekend :(
Just spoke with my nurse at the onc. office. They got the reports on my bone scan, 3-D imaging and CT scan. The tests showed an "abnormality which could represent metastasis" but the nurse said the onc. would probably want to do a bone biopsy. Apparently, none of the reports are definitive one way or the other.…

* Cancer Crusade Survivors Movie * * It Is An Inspiring & Touching 3 Minutes *
This is an emotional 3 minutes of film that I hope you will take a look at. Or, if you've already seen it, watch it again. I think it is very powerful, very emotional, but, well worth seeing. It is on youtube. One of my girlfriends sent this to me and I've watched it several times. I hope you like it. I think everyone…

swelling
I had a bilateral mastectomy on June 28th and still have a lot of swelling in my chest area. My surgeon doesn't seem to be concerned about it but it is very uncomfortable and makes my chest feel really tight. Does anyone else have this problem?

update on meds causing excessive sweating: amatriptoline
It seems that the amatriptoline was behind all that sweat! I looked it up and it causes excessive sweating. I also spoke to a cousin who knows about meds and interactions and he said that that and other drugs taken at the same time can cause the side effects. I stopped taking it and I am starting to return to normal. Is…

I start chemo tomorrow
I will do 4 cycles of 5-FU, Cytoxan and Epirubicin and then 4 cycles of Taxotere and Herceptin. I'm just coming off 15 mos. of treatment for ovarian cancer, so I've been in chemo before, but those drugs were Taxol, Cisplatin and Avastin. Also, my doctors are recommending a double masectomy once all the chemo is done - gee,…

One test turned into 3--now I'm really scared
Yesterday I had my nuclear bone scan for the pain I've been experiencing in one of my vertebra. After the scan, the tech showed me a very dramatically lit-up spot right on the vertebra causing the pain. He said the radiologist wanted him to do some 3-D images of that area which would take about 30 more minutes. After those…
