Question to the seasoned ladies out there...
Being new here I'm still trying to figure this site out! On one of my recent threads, I had someone comment that although they didn't have cancer they wondered what it was like to have it, what it was like to not have anyone to talk to, etc. My first thought was to reply, look around your neighborhood, there's plenty of us…

Good News from the Onc
I went to the Oncologist today and the results came back good. I will not have chemo. I will have radiation and meds. It was such a relief! It isn't an agressive type.

What I now know...or don't know
I thought I would start a new discussion since I have some additional info. I've jumped ship from the ovarian cancer board. Dx. July 2010 with stage 3a, grade 3, clear cell. In a clinical trial and had IV/IP taxol and cisplatin and have been on Avastin every 3 weeks as maintenance. Found out I have invasion lobular cancer…

blisters
I thought I'd get away without getting them but no such luck. I've got a bag of frozen peas right now that I'm using to cool things off. Any clues what else I can do? The heat that is being generated is amazing. The cool washcloths get hot in a matter of minutes, which is why I switched to the frozen peas.

I'm a little worried about my neck...
Some of you may remember that I began to have neck pain after I started arimidex, so I figured it was the arimidex. The pain is a dull right sided ache that was intermittent. It is now no longer intermittent. It hurts all of the time, no matter what I do. I am now having trouble turning my head to the right--it is hard to…

I missed my own bus...
I've been sick three out of the last four weeks, and I had to cancel my 6 mo mammo that I reserved the pink bus for. I also had to reschedule my hysteroscopy and D&C that was set for 11/18. I think my immune system went to Florida for the winter. I can't snap out of it, and I'm starting to get really frustrated and whiny.…

When it rains it pours... Good News
Just came back from the Dr. This was not a heart attack or blockage, it is ET! The chest and sternum is covered in bone marrow and it is an episode of the ET. He explained that a hematologist/oncologist would have recognized right off that it was not his heart as they would be familiar with ET. He gave him medicine to take…

I'm new to this site and don't know what to do next.
Hi I have finally accepted the fact that I am a survivor of cancer. I had a lumpectomy and lymph node removal. I will have to have an additional surgery to remove more tissue from around the tumor area, but no more lymph nodes were involved so that is good. I want to know opinions on following the "standard" treatment…

Have you ever felt mischievous during this journey?
I can name at least two times... - It started with the needle biopsie, the assistant who was showing me where I can get undressed really liked my shoes. And I REALLY didn't like the feel of this place. So I offered her my shoes, is shell just jot down that all was well and I could be on my way. And when she hesitated I…

Sonogram results
Well, I mananged to squeeze in yesterday at 3 for a sonogram and it was so much like the experience I initially had when I was first given the bad news. They clicked away at the lump and underarm, then I had to wait (praying the entire time), then I got called back again to take mammogram scans then sent back to wait some…

Femara and rads at the same time?
On Thursday I was given Femara to start taking. I've done that. Since then, I got to thinking that maybe I shouldn't have started until I'm through with radiation. I'll be through on Tuesday so maybe it isn't a big deal. Does anyone know if it's okay that I take Femara before being done with radiation? I'd call the doctor…

Taxotere/Cytoxan & teaching
I'll be starting Taxotere & Cytoxan chemotherapy in a couple of weeks - 4 rounds, three weeks apart. Also Herceptin for a year. What I'm most worried about is work as I teach middle school Monday-Friday and I'm wondering if it will be fair on the kids to have a teacher who is feeling lousy for days at a time. On the other…
