Anyone on Tamoxifen that has aches(throbbing) in the underarms where they check for lymphnodes? or sometimes even breast aches? Of course I have had bone pain, and hot flashes, but was just wondering if anyone has experienced this.

I'm new here.....
Hi, I've been following the boards for a couple of weeks now, so glad that I found them finally! I've sat back and just kept up with everybody but decided it was time to join in the conversation :o ) I was diagnosed in Sept. with ILC. Upon further testing (MRI), IDC was found in the other breast. I opted for a double…

CT Scan results...bad news
CT scan was yesterday evening, my onc called this evening. The Xeloda isn't working and the cancer has spread. You may recall that when the mets were found, cancer was in two lymph nodes between my lungs. At that time there was so little cancer the nodes were not even swollen. Those nodes are now "enlarged" along with a…

OT - I'm a little nervous tonight
I am going to have some major dental work tomorrow (8 teeth extracted) so I am a little nervous. I know that it will not be painful during the extractions but I also know it will be painful later. I have laid in a supply of soup and frozen yogurt so that I will at least not starve until I am able to chew. I am hoping that…

Took my first Femara
I took it at 10pm. I guess I'm on to the next step now. Radiation will be over in three more sessions. The current plan is that I'm to be on it for 10 years. I was told to take it in the morning but that really didn't seem right to me. The papers said that it might make me drowsy and to not drive until I knew how I…

Fessing up
I've been having some stuff going on with the OTHER breast. About 2 months ago I felt a small lump, about the size of a peppercorn. To me it doesn't feel like what I think a bc lump feels like and I wasn't in a state of panic, but I did know that I'd show it to my pcp when I saw her a couple of weeks later (October 7). She…

Experience with TENS (nerve stimulation) for chronic under arm pain?
DEar Pink Sisters: I had 18 lymph nodes removed May 2010. I have chronic pain (burning sensation) under the arm, radiating down the truck and towards the back. After months of being told by the good docs "it will get better" and didn't I was put on Gabapentin and then switched to Lyrica. I also use a compounded ointment of…

Depression after chemo and surgery?
Hi all, I just joined this site and this is my first post. I completed my chemo and had a single mastectomy a month ago. I'm in the process of reconstruction and getting physical therapy. I still need Herceptin infusions once every three weeks for the next 6 months but I have officially been declared Cancer free by my…

Areola graft vs. tattoo
Anybody have an areola skin graft done with their nipple reconstruction? My PS had always talked about getting an areola tattoo, but when I was there for my pre-op we decided to do the skin graft....more because I would be done sooner and not have to go back in 2 months for the tattoo (I've moved 4 hours away). I'm…

strange problem with toenail
I have not seen this problem addressed here before, but maybe somebody out there has an answer: My toenails have not been normal since I had chemo in summer of 2008. It seemed like part of the nail was dead and they were discolored. Now in the past several months I have developed a black spot underneath one of my toenails:…

Warm breast and post treatment nipple pealing - did anyone experience this?
Hi everyone, I am almost 2 months out of radiation. The radiated breast still feels warm, especially after physical activity. In addition to the whole breast being warm, the nipple of the breast have little yellow crusts. Are these still side effects from the radiation or something I should worry about? All comments are…

Chest feels like it is in a vise-- doctor update
Dr. called, the fluid in the lungs is from the progression of the cancer throughout my ribs and chest wall. I will see him Wednesday and will need to make some decisions then. Will start chemo again next Friday or the following Wednesday. He said it is progressing quickly... he said the tumor in the liver is the least of…

in shock
I am "jumping ship" from the ovarian board. I was dx. in July 2010 with stage 3a, grade 3, clear cell ovarian cancer. I got in a clinical trial and had 6 rounds of chemo (taxol and cisplatin, IV nd IP. I finished the chemo in December 2010 and continued on the Avastin as maintenance every 3 weeks. My last Avastin was…

Reconstruction
Diagnosed 11/3. Will have surgery 12/14. Will remove right breast that has the cancer and it was recommended to do the left also because I want reconstruction. Sounds like a long and arduous process. Do they look real?

the roof of my mouth
You know those bumpy things you have in the roof of your mouth? Well, all of a sudden a couple of them are pulled back in the wrong direction. I can put them back down but every time I eat or drink I have to lay them back down where they go. I could probably rip one out if I wanted to, but I DO NOT want to. Is this from…

Hi all, I'm in the middle of my 1st chemo treatment and looking ahead to the next phase of the journey...radiation. I cancelled a scheduled consultation appointment today for radiation therapy. MRI results
Hi, I got the results of the MRI yesterdat, 3 mm x 3mm x 5mm enhancing nodule, plateau pattern of enhancement. BIRADS-category 3 - probably benign. Another MRI in 6 months. This wording of "probably benign" has me a little scared. Should I ask for a biopsy to be done? I don't think I can wait and wonder for 6 months. I've…

The Oak Tree
I wanted to re-post this for some of the newbies (seems like so many) sigh, I know I loved this poem when I received it in a card while going through treatment.
