Is second infusion better than first/ predictable?
I feel like everything that goes on with my body is going to end traumatically. If it is a symptom of my body to chemo, I over analyze. My neighbor is burning the "winter pile" today, and I worry that the smoke smell will enter my house and hurt me. I'm scared to go out. This first treatment has been very difficult for me.…

~NIPPLE RECONSTRUCTION UPDATE~
I decided to note what has happened so far, if anyone has had this done please let me know how it went for you. I choose to have a skin graft done above the pubic hair line to create the areola that surrounds the newly created nipple (which is created by snipping created breast skin and sewing it so it puckers). The…

First of all, my lovely flowers are still thriving! They are beautiful purple and make me smile, so thank you again. Well, today I seem to have some energy, I have so much nausea and seem to throw up every day. I still have the blood clot and I am becoming a pro at giving myself the needles in my stomach. I never thought…

Arrrggggh...rads rash
So my skin has gone from red and slightly itchy, to rashy and really itchy. The good news is I have 6 days left, and 5 of them are boosters. I asked the rads nurse about it today. She gave me a sample of a 2% Lidocaine cream, said I could also use orajel (it has lidocaine too), or hydracortizone. Did anyone else get this…

I got my junk box!
And it's making me feel really guilty, because I still haven't even gathered stuff together yet. So I am apologizing now! Libby, I can't believe how much stuff you got in that box...frames, cookbooks, bracelets, candles, a watch, cd's, a 'fight like a girl' hat, a vase. It's been so much fun looking through everything. I…

Low WBC
I was just told my blood test showed my white blood count is 2.5 (Low). It has been 4 months since having my last chemo and final nulesta shot. My last chemo was mid Nov. so I am wondering about this. Before cancer I had good wbc readings. Anyone else have low wbc reading after chemo was complete. I did not have radiation…

A year later.....
Tomorrow will be 1 year since my bi lateral mastectomy. Diagnosed 2/23/10 IDC stage 1/grade 1, and feel blessed that chemo and radiation werent necessary. On the 5 year Femara plan....Now, a small stumble, after 2 years of abnormal paps, ultrasound found a tumor, and since I dont feel confident with biopsies, opted for a…

Revision, revision, revision... How common is this???
Since my double mastectomy 6/09 I have had 4 revision surgeries. Making the life saving decision to have a mastectomy was hard enough, now to still be dealing with complications afterwards can be overwhelming. I am one week post-op of my 4th. I am very happy with the results, but in the back of my mind I'm still wondering…

Omg! Lefty has fallen, again
You can find me in the fetal position, in the corner. I'm four weeks post op from reconstruction revision surgery. It was a very tough one, not sure why. I have been living 24/7 in nike sports bras and it still fell. Gah! I have a backup PS, recommendation, if necessary. My PS' nurse just told me that he did not have…

bilirubin and severe diarrhea
I had my first chemo on 1 March. On day 5 severe diarrhea and abdominal pain began. Even though the pain abated after 2 days, the diarrhea persisted until March 14. Immodium was continually needed. My bilirubin has always been 1.2 or 1.3, which is slightly above the normal limit. Has anyone else experienced abdominal pain…

Hair color
I know I have seen this on here before.I looked some but did not find anything to recent. When is it ok to color hair after chemo? I am 8 1/2 months out of chemo. Concerned when they tell me no routine scans will be done
First, does anybody have this feeling when treatment is done of it not seeming right that they aren't actively doing anything anymore? Much as I am thrilled to have just finished radiation and have finished treatment that started in June 2010, I get this odd feeling that we are not doing anything to fight it anymore which…

Prayers for my Sister-In-Law

Was wondering
I am a 20 month survivor. I have always wondered why other survivors wear t-shirts stating they are breast cancer survivors. I guess I don't really understand this because I feel it is very personal and pretty much advertising your medical history to strangers. I mean people with diabetes don't walk around wearing t-shirts…

Off topic....may be my last dutch treat....sigh....
After 19 years, my beau and I are talking a split. More me than him, but both of us have been unhappy for a while. I will stay for his birthday, but, beyond that, well, it's uncertain. Fighting the beast more than once has taught me that sometimes the best decisions for myself are the most painful ones. This one fits that…
