When is it safe to go topless????
Hi Guys... I am just over 2 months past chemo now and have what looks almost like a "boot camp" style haircut. The population of hair is still a little thin, but I am proud of every one of those little strands. I had a discussion with my husband and told him that I am at the point where I am ready to just shed the baseball…

Friday .. Funny -- Just a good laugh!
An out-of-towner drove his car into a ditch in a desolated area. Luckily, a local farmer came to help with his big strong horse named Buddy. He hitched Buddy up to the car and yelled, "Pull, Nellie, pull!" Buddy didn't move. Then the farmer hollered, "Pull, Buster, pull!" Buddy didn't respond. Once more the farmer…

Surgery was Tuesday...I am writing the Great (ok mediocre) American Novel!
So, I had my surgery on Tuesday morning about 9AM...my surgeon ( who I adore!!!) came in beforehand to gently tell me that the biopsy from the previous week was indeed positive for BC, but that was no surprise to any of us, was it? I am actually happy that her outpatient schedule was booked and that I had to be a…

chemo delayed so I followed Pitt's lead
I read Pitt's article the day after I was SUPPOSED to start chemo. It got delayed; they're doing an oncotype now because of my strange and mysterious tumor. I got so inspired by her article, I swam today - YEP! I, who have been whining to myself for 4 1/2 weeks since my mastectomy, actually went in the pool at the gym and…

couldn't believe it
I had been at work for about half an hour this morning when suddenly my boss and 2 co-workers came to my desk with flowers and small, pink, heart-shaped cakes, saying "Happy Anniversary!" Update & Port Question
Hey all, sorry about my terrible tendency to not make regular updates. I finally got my final chemo and basically by the time it rolled around I was pretty much too tired to do much of anything. That was 2 weeks ago, though and I'm finally starting to feel a bit better. Maybe just knowing the chemo is over helps with that…

Went to London, met the other CSN'ers...GREAT time...until....
On my way back thru Dutch customs, I was told that I was over the amount of time I can stay in The Netherlands as an American citizen...and that I should be denied entry and deported (!!!!!!). Now, as it turned out, the guy who was doing this was calculating the time AWAY from Holland that I have spent, not the time…

Finally cleared for rads!!
My PET was clear and although my tumor markers are at 41, I reminded my onc that I had a sinus infection at the time the blood was taken. So he and my radiologist decided I could start my 33 rads treatment on Monday. I'm so happy to be going to the next phase of treatment. I am no longer afraid, knowing the my docs will…

Here we go again!
Went for my first mammogram today since my breast cancer diagnosis. They found an area on my right breast that they didn't like. WTF! The tech said it could be scar tissue from my reduction and "lift" surgeries. So they did an ultrasound. They still aren't sure, so now I have to go for a biopsy tomorrow. I can't do this…
