How long after treatment was your 1st mammogram?
I finished my rads at the beginning of July. The only treatment I am doing now is the 5 years of Femara. So I was wondering how long after treatment you waited for a mammogram. My rad onc has set up an appointment for me to have one on Jan. 10. That would be fine but my surgeon said I did not need to have one until March…

My ornament
Since I was away for the holidays, I just got my ornament today from June when I picked up my mail from the post office. I do not know her CSN name. It was a beautiful angel and since my tree is still up, she sits proudly upon it. Thank you so much, June. Hugs, Renee

I got to meet Sue on Christmas Eve in upstate NY where I was for the holiday visiting my mom. She is the sweetest girl--I feel like I've known her for years. We had lunch and a glass of wine at an Italian restaurant. She showed up with a wonderful basket full of goodies for me. We're planning on meeting again when I go…

What kind of BC?
I was asked by a new physical therapy assistant today "what kind of breast cancer do you have?" I was kind of stumped by the question, as I know that non-BC people (as I was prior to diagnosis)have no clue about all the different kinds. She is really clueless anyway, since she asked me how come she could feel a breast when…

High Blood pressure
High Blood pressure is one of the side effects of Arimidex. I am not exception , so I am having high blood pressure and should take medications. I got a script for Lotensin, but I still hope I can control it somehow. I have three questions: (1) Does anybody use hers or herbal supplements to reduce blood pressure? (2) If…

Tell Me about your Lumpectomy Experience...
I am scheduled for my lumpectomy on 01/06 at St. Joseph's hospital in Orange, Ca. I went in today to get all my pre-op stuff done. First of all, my regular doctor wasn't there, so one of her assistants handed the forms to me with little or no explanation of the procedure or what all the pre-op stuff entailed. On top of…

CA15 results....
I have been hearing from alot of BC friends lately that they are getting great CA15 scores and I am really, really happy for them! But it has given me some concerns on my score and if mine couldn't be better. Not that it is bad, but my score was a 25 and it seems everyone else is getting 10 or 15. My oncologist is happy…

I am dancing with Ned this New Years
I am soooooooo glad the wait is over. I hate waiting for the check up's. However my hospital give's me my result before I go home. I always have a doctor appointment that follows the test. This is a good thing I don't think I could stand to go home a wait like I use to. Kathy ~

What is after treatment?
I finished all my treatments at the end of October. Before I was diagnosed with BC my husband was already retired and I retired from my job when I found out I this disease. How do I get back to my life from here? I have worked for at least 35 years of my 40 year marriage and then went straight to treatment after…

~~~Some Ha Ha's For Today - I Hope You Get A Laugh Or A Smile!~~~
A cowboy rode into town ... A cowboy rode into town and stopped at the saloon for a drink. Unfortunately, the locals always had a habit of picking on newcomers. When he finished, he found his horse had been stolen. He comes back into the bar, handily flips his gun into the air, catches it above his head without even…
reconstruction
Hi, It's been almost a year since my surgery and I have a hole in my breast. It's above my nipple about an inch and it's about 2 inches circular shaped above that. It's not super noticeable, but I notice it and I hate it. I am starting to think about reconstruction and am wondering how to think about this. I am wondering…
Chemo is over
Has anyone else heard someone they love say "well, the Chemo is over now, you should start feeling better". Still dealing with side effects, the worst is the fatigue, the lack of ambition. Just because the actual infusions are over people seem to think you should be all right. This is very frustrating for me; how do the…
I can't believe my mother did this on X-mas..
I had my last of 16 chemo treatments on 12/16. For some reason this one hit me harder then the others. I was fatigued, nauseated, and vomiting. So on Christmas Day I was still feeling terrible. But here is what is bothering me. My mother lives around the corner from me. She wanted me to come over to her house on Christmas.…
The Miracle of Life.... I just had to share...
Went to bed at 10 o'clock last night...still exhausted from Christmas Day hosting. My son woke me up at 11:30... my little sister (who is around the same age as my oldest two children) was on her way to the hospital, her water broke... I called my brother in law and he told me she was asking for me... so I threw on some…
Who knew COFFEE would be a remedy for my leg pain?????
i haven't drank any coffee in months and after not sleeping a couple nights in a row because of my leg cramps/pain (supposedly from the arimidex) I had a cup and the pain went away within 5 min. I've been drinking about a half cup every time it starts now and it works every time. I even had to get up from bed twice and…
